Reduce boil and simmer on low for a good hour or longer, stirring at 15 min intervals. Beans should become mushy. Keep stirring and checking until beans melt into a puree consistency. Turn off heat, and let sit covered until ready to serve. Fave are supposed to dissolve into a mushy consistency.
