After trying many, this is the one that works!
A shame I had to try a few models prior to this before I got one that works!I have an old Sony Trinitron CRT display that is still working. My Mother actually uses it in her room, not caring that she's only getting SD and a picture that is not in the correct ratio. However, she's satisfied with what she has and I am more than happy for that.I wanted to give her one of my older Tivo units to use on the CRT. Unfortunately, the Tivo and the CRT are totally mismatched technology-wise. The Tivo has only an HDMI output and the CRT only has component (RCA) inputs.How do you get the two to work together? You need a device like this one.This conversion kit comes with just about everything you need to make things work for you: converter, usb power cable, HDMI cable, component cable. The one thing that it lacks is a 5v USB plug. These are easily obtainable and you probably have an extra lying around your home.This did not initially work for me as I didn't properly read the product description which states that it is not compatible with 4k output devices. Fortunately, I was able to go into Tivo video settings and have it output in 720p. Once I did that, I was very pleased to find a perfect image coming from the Tivo to the CRT.There are many of these type of converters listed on Amazon. They don't all work -- or at least they did not work for me. I was elated to find this product did what it was supposed to do, which is, converting a perfect picture.You can feel confident that this converter will work for you. Just be certain that if you are converting a 4k or 3D device you have the ability to change the resolution.

IT WORKS!!!! Attached to new HDMI ROKU play to play on old TV, and it works!
My old ROKU player died and the new ones want only HDMI connections; my old TV doesn't have those. I got this to try to put a new ROKU onto my old TV ... AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY!! Absolutely no issue at all!!My only 'complaint' are the sparse, and I mean SPARSE, instructions. You will need to have some basic knowledge of what to plug in where. The thing that confused me a bit was there was no power cord; it uses a USB for power. I plugged the USB into the port on the ROKU and that worked to power it, but that was a guess on my part; I wasn't sure if that was what I was supposed to do. So, it's not quite as easy as plug in one thing and play, but if you have a basic idea of where to plug things in, it's not that bad.And -- IT WORKS!

Needs a power supply. Then works well with both Apple and Android products.
I got this for our old minivan because the van had a TV with VGA (no HDMI). So now we hook our iPad up to this and play Netflix for the kids. This requires power so make sure you have a phone charger connection that this can run off of! And if you want to hook up your tablet to this you will need to separately buy a Lighting to HDMI adapter for Apple products, or a USB-C to HDMI adapter for newer Android products.

Doesn't work with basic older TV
Hooked up to older tv and a roku stick. I get picture, but squiggly lines all over the screen in both PAL and NTSC. I returned and bought a basic HDMI to RCA converter for $13 and that worked perfectly. I'm guessing this only works if both tv's or monitors are HD but lacking and HDMI connection? Either way this isn't what I would consider a converter.

Oh my i bought my daughter an older small tv to add chromecast to it cause i didnt want to add another tv box and all she wanted was youtube I had a fire stick but it was hooked up by hdmi well the tv i bought had rca inputs so i had to figure how to convert tv to use the stick i do a search on amazon and find the converter im reviewing thats all i needed easy to put together and everything worked smoothly and i have 1 happy teen.

Works great! Very easy
Easy to install. Worked instantly, so far so good. I use it for a a small direct tv box that remotely connects to the main DVR and a old tv that only has RCA jacks.

It Works!
It Works! I needed to convert a new DVD player from HDMI output to RCA output and this worked just as they said it would. It was easy to setup, needed no configuration, and works quite well. No, the picture is not as clear as HDMI but is fine for regular viewing. If you need to convery HDMI to RCA, this device is the one to choose.

Works Great
I bought this because the HDMI ports on my TV are broken and I wanted to use my Fire Stick. Now, I plug the RCA wires into the TV and connect the Fire Stick through the HDMI on the converter and it works great.
