SX-60 Bookshelf Speaker | 100 Watt Home Theater Compact Speakers | Pair (Matte Black)

Beautiful sweet sounding full range Cambridge SX-60 speakers . I am also using a Cambridge 340A intergrated 50 watt amplifier which matches the SX-60's perfectly. The mid range and high frequencies sound very natural and the clarity and details are great. If you want super sonic bass you can always add a subwoofer. Conclusion: I am a very happy that I purchased the Cambridge SX-60 speakers. NOTE: A good speaker will only sounds as good the amplfier driving them.

Pros--clean and simple finish (great look with grilles off), more sensitive than my old bookshelfs, nice price compared to other large speakers from KEF, Dali, Canton, and Monitor Audio Cons--a little port chuff (sounds like a rattle) when really loud, heavy bass causes powerful air movement. I took the foam plugs from my Bronze BX2 speakers and the rattle was fixed with no obvious change in sound. It would be nice if the foam plugs were included with these SX-60s. Other thoughts--I am using a diminutive Denon M39 receiver to push these babies and they make for a great upgrade to the stock Denon speakers (which are about half the size of the SX60s). I also tried these with the NAD D3020 amplifier and got a similarly wonderful sound. Compared to the stock Denon speakers that came with my receiver, the sound is much bigger overall, the bass is heavier (enough to fool you into thinking there's a sub), and the mids and highs are clear without seeming muffled or shrill. I use this system to listen to anything from glitchy EDM breakbeats to SoCal punk rock to classic Jazz and Blues, all to great effect. They look awesome in my front room and despite how wonderful they currently work, I look forward to trying them with bigger and better amps.

This is a phenomenal set of speakers. Everything they say in their advertising is true. I would have been appalled if you had told me I would spend $3,000 on a pair of bookshelf speakers. However, over the last 3-4 years, I have bought 10 pairs of $300 speakers. Some just for fun, others out of curiosity, and some out of desperation for an elusive satisfaction. These speakers have ended my search. I'm using these in a 9x10 room, music only, no subwoofer, stereo system. These reconnect you with the emotion in the music. As the company says, their goal was to add nothing to what the artist intended. It's hard to describe the speakers in audio terms. To me, they are not warm, or bright, or even neutral. They just play the music. You pick up the passion in the music. It saddened me to read a professional review which said these were functional, not special. It makes me wonder if the reviewer actually listened to the speakers, or just looked at them. In my opinion, their specialness comes from being functional. The music is the show, not the speakers. I will say that when I need a new cd player or integrated amp, I will buy the offerings from Cambridge. It won't bother me at all to have all components from one company. Well done, Cambridge Audio.

Ok .. so comparing these against my Keff QF150s on the same Cambridge CXA81mk2 amp ... these have a way wider lower range and while not as bright in the midrange do have a pleasingly dynamic feel. Easily good for both movies and most music I listen to, where the Keff's really sound thin with something like Dune. For a speaker in this price range I'm very happy with them.

Let me preface this in saying that I am well versed in audio setups so my issues with these are not due to something like incorrect crossover settings. I bought these because I was searching for bookshelf speakers with the lowest listed low frequency response I could find without breaking the bank or getting speakers that are too big for my bedroom. These advertise as having a low frequency response of 40Hz, well into the sub bass range (20Hz to 60Hz). I have a small 6" subwoofer with a low frequency response of 35Hz and was hoping these would negate the need for it. Unfortunately, that bass just wasn't there. These didn't seem to have any more bass than my Klipsch bookshelf speakers which have a listed low frequency response of 62Hz. Furthermore, while I will say that music sounds pretty balanced and natural at lower volumes, these lack any real "umph". I don't think they are suitable for a home theater system and are best suited for a 2 channel stereo receiver system for music listening in a small room.

Everyones system and room setting is different so I can only speak to mine. These speakers deliver a kick that I haven't had before. I'm sure there are better and more expensive speakers out there but for me they are perfect. Listening to jazz, rock, samba on my record player and they sound excellent. At a quarter of the way up on volume and it's loud. When I do increase the volume they deliver without compromising the sound.

Ich habe eine SONY Kompakt-Anlage mit 2 mal 60 Watt. Für diese Anlage habe ich lange nach passenden Boxe gesucht. Bei Cambridge bin ich jetzt fündig geworden. Mit einer Nennbelastbarkeit von 20 bis 100 Watt an 8 Ohm klingen diese Boxen für diesen Preis ganz ordentlich. Speziell der Bass ist berauschend. Die meisten anderen Boxen haben die Bass-Geflechts-Öffnung auf der Rückseite, bei diesen Boxen sind sie auf der Frontseite. Dadurch sin die Boxen etwas höher als übliche Boxen dieser Kategorie. Schade ist nur, dass es diese Boxen nur in Walnuss gibt. Schöner währe es wenn es sie auch in Buche gäbe.

Diffusori che suonano così bene a questo prezzo è impossibile trovarli. La resa sonora dopo anche poche ore di ascolto è molto sorprendente su tutte le frequenze. Alti cristallini, le voci molto reali e bassi ben presenti. Si percepisce abbastanza la separazione tra i vari strumenti. Paragonati a diffusori che costano anche 3 - 4 volte di più reggono bene il confronto. Se li acquistate non ve ne pentirete.
