Schmidt Brothers Cutlery, SFOSL08, Forge 8 Inch Slicer

i have knives- good knives, bad knives,expensive knives, cheap knives. i don't know why but i like to keep buying kitchen knives. i read an article about the schmidt bros and their foray into the knife business- intrigued i purchased a set of steak knives wondering what to expect. well, my wife and i loved the look and feel of them, but more importantly they are well made, feel great in your hand, and are sharp. so i decided to start purchasing different pieces at a timt, this being the first. this is a forged slicing knife that also feels right in your hand. whe i received it i oiled the handle and honed the blade- this knife is sharp and cuts slices of ham you can read through- another winner, so i have ordered their mofotoku knife and happily await its arrival. if you are looking for quality knives without having to get a second mortgage for the set try these. yes, they are put together in china, but this is good german steel and well crafted cutlery. yes, every bit as nice as my henckels or wusthof. i know, i know you doubt it- just get one of their forge series(there are more than one) and see if you are not impressed. i will continue to add their knives to my collection.

Extremely high quality knife, nice heft in hand, beautiful edge to the blade. An absolute dream to use and a steal at the price!

needed a turkey carving knife this did the job. is sharp. I have had better knives but since every knife at my mom's house is dull this one is my go to. hand wash only. do not allow to soak in water for extended periods of time

This isn't just a great knife for the price, it is a great knife! I can cut tomatoes as thin as I want and it stays sharp. Love it!

Excellent product I received on time and it works great I was able to slice two turkeys so for I would highly recommend this knife.

Thanks, love the knife use it daily, handle got wet and turned dark when i left it in the sink in water over night so please don't do that. User error. nice doing business with you!
