It's strongly perfumed and smells wonderful.It doesn't smell anything like a body spray though. It's definitely a complex perfumy smell. The vanilla and grapefruit are parts of the smell, but you wouldn't smell this and think grapefuit dessert or anything.To some people, this may be an old lady smell since its complex and not sweet. My grandmother, born in the 20s wore a perfume like this. It's not a simple or obviously fruity smell. I've never gotten more compliments on a scent though. Everyone seems to love it and doesnt turn gross if I get sweaty or anything.The downside of this is that it's really not a good idea to use this as a body butter because it's too highly perfumed and too lightweight for that. It's better as a hand lotion and maybe for the elbows too.
