There is quite a lot of room. But 4 20 oz. water bottles--I don't think so. Not an issue for me. I am 85 years old and could never carry that much. **Q: How deep is the front pocket? Does a large cell phone stick out much?** A: I purchased the style that has 3 front pockets. The smallest is 6.5"W x 4.5"H and does not fit a large cell phone. The middle pocket is 7"W x 7"H and fits a large cell phone just fine with room to spare. The largest front pocket is 7.5"W x 10.5"H.
