love using a semi permanent hair day. The natural instincts doesn't use some of the dangerous products found in regular hair dye. The Light Caramel brown is perfect for me. It's easy to use I love the smell of the color-stay conditioner. Your hair color lasts through many washings.

Pleasantly surprised! I have been dying my hair my entire life, mostly bleaching it very light blonde. This not only was damaging my hair a lot, but takes time to properly tone, conditioning treatments, etc. After I had my daughter i didnt have time to keep doing all that and had the salon try to darken it, and they did, but it was a hard transition from blonde to a more “mousey” brown. On top of that, it faded severely die to my hair being bleached previously, the ends lightened up alot and looked bad. I read that this type of hair dye was less harsh on your hair and picked a color close to my natural color and chose BBZ, or light carmel brown. First off, it didnt smell offensive and like chemicals, which I was shocked by. It actually smells nice. That alone made it a positive experience. The conditioner is pretty decent, and the color came out beautifully. Its thin, and drips easy, but if you take your time i find that it is very easy to apply and make sure you do not miss any spots. Color is vibrant and not brassy. Hair feels soft. I will use this product again.

I was using Madison Reed for the past 15 years but I’m really trying to cut down on nonessentials. I haven’t used Natural Instincts since high school and I’m bummed I overspent for so long! The color is perfect for me. I have medium brown hair but almost every color brown turns my hair too dark. This matched exactly. The conditioner is awesome (I forgot about the conditioner, why can’t we buy this by the gallon??) and the results were great. This is probably enough for me to use half each time to cover my greys. Since it’s almost identical ti my natural color, I don’t need to color root to tip. I did use a mixing bowl and brush to apply instead of the bottle, but I think the bottle would be even easier. Never going back!

I used this to "FILL" my bleached hair before going back to brunette. this will ensure even color with vibrant tones in your dye job. never just slap brown on top of bleached hair or it will turn out ugly green, ruddy and muted looking

I followed the directions exactly and the color did not color my gray. So I wasted my afternoon off of work using a pro that doesn’t color my hair. No gray coverage at all but now the rest of my hair has a copper shine to it. Guess I’ll be redoing it with another brand.

Tried and true semi permanent hair dye, especially this colour. I hope it doesn’t discontinue because it’s not on Clairol’s site :’( This shade is harder to find in-store too. Anyways, I often change my hair and this always brings me back to my natural tone in a much less damaging way. This colour ends up a medium golden brown on me personally. Like what other reviews have warned, this dye range definitely goes darker than shown and in some cases will not actually fade that much. I tried a 5 series and it was a dark brown on me for months.

I've been to quality salons, used demi, semi, permanent and even henna at this point. I can 100 percent recommend this hair dye. My hair is down to my chest. It does not dry out my hair, the color lasts quite a while (I shampoo my hair every single day) and it smells awesome. One box could do my whole head, but I like to really saturate it, so I buy two. I used to go to Sally's and buy Wella, but this is much better. My hair looks much healthier and it's growing faster because of less damage and not having to cut it. I won't use another hair dye ever again.

My first and last choice

I've used Clairol Natural Instincts for over 25 years, the 6BZ (light caramel brown) for over 10 years. This color is very close to my natural color. Recently they seem to have discontinued this color. Thankfully, I thought to try Amazon and sure enough, they had it! I ordered 4 boxes and got free shipping. It arrived in a couple of days.
