New puppy cam!
Overall, I think this is an amazing product. We just got a new puppy, and it’s been super helpful to be able to keep an eye on her (and make sure that she’s not being too noisy while we’re out). The camera quality and audio are great for what you’re paying, and the motion sensors are super helpful to keep track of movement in rooms that the camera can’t see. The Kami App made set up a breeze, and it took maybe 20 minutes to set up the base station, camera, and 2 sensors. The only thing that I would say so far is that since we live in a smaller apartment, we aren’t making use of the second base station and 2 additional motion sensors, but it will be good to have them on standby in case something happens to the ones we have or if we move to a larger home!

Not easy to setup, notifications do not work, and it is not loud enough to hear in another room...
I ordered this as I wanted an alarm with remote notifications that might scare away someone breaking in. This is not only not functional for the basics, but it is also difficult to setup. The product arrived nicely packaged with each piece of the system individually boxed inside and the base and sensors looked aesthetically pleasing. Unfortunately, that is where the niceties end.Installation of the base was not difficult, but odd and not well documented as you need to plug the odd power cable into the power wart and the ethernet then goes into the USB wart that you plugged into the power wart. The use of USB-C would be nice if you did not need the special cable with the ethernet port... so you may be able to replace the power wart if it dies, but not the cable. Of course, the ethernet cable plugs into a wired port which means that for most people it needs to be located where the router is. While this would not be an issue if the alarm was loud, it is not. After setup with the Kami Home App, the hub is not shown in the device list, so there are no settings for it including volume. So it fails for basic configuration features.Installation of the entry sensors was difficult. You need to open them, install the battery, then use a pin to press the reset button to activate them, and finally lie them on the base to finish pairing. While it seems that they are supposed to ship with mounting tape, none of mine had any... so I would have to get some if I plan to keep this system. Unlike most security systems, the entry sensors to not flash, so telling whether or not they are working is difficult before installation... so I activated away mode. So it fails to meet its basic simple installation promises as well as easy of installation.Unfortunately, though the sensor and magnet were together and then separated, the alarm did not sound. I moved the magnet around each side and away several times before it finally started alarming, but it was not loud enough to tell that it was an intruder alarm (unless you know) when it was just across the table... sounded more like an annoying timer going off. So it fails at notification when you are home.During the alarm condition, I could find no notifications in the open app, nor text messages, nor notifications. I set the mode from away back to home in an attempt to stop the alarm, but there seems to be no means to disable it once it starts except by unplugging the base. So, it really fails at remote notification and remediation.Needless to say, I cannot find a use for this device. If I used it at home I would not hear it alarming and it would not be easy to reset. If I used it remotely, I would never get notified nor even know about it unless I open the app and looked at device history. All of this on top of being trouble to setup and install. I did not even bother to open all of the entry sensors and the PIR sensor as the system is going back.I would recommend not wasting your time with this product. I am rating it the rare one star for me. As always, your mileage, patience, and preferences may vary... but good luck if you are waiting for the software improvements that could be made.

Generally a waste of time and money. Returned
I am a big fan of the YI cameras and was natural for me to try their Kami Home Security system. It was highly disappointing and I finally gave up and returned the system. The range is poor leading to a significant delay in warning you if a door is opened or motion detected. The "alarm" is a quiet chime impossible to hear, therefore we figured the phone alert would be more suitable. Unfortunately, it took 3-10 minutes for our phone to warn us of an alert! What? So an intruder can come in and take whatever they want before our home security alerts us? Yup. Also, one of the door sensors didnt work out of the box. The app is terrible, slow, buttons slow to respond especially in Android and doesn't rotate to your screen movement. The home base must be hard wired to your router or it wont work; so it had to be in the basement where the chime could not be heard what so ever. YI makes great cams, but this Kami system is pretty terrible.

Kami Smart Security Starter Kit - no monthly fees!
I bought this kit to because I don't want to pay a monthly subscription to have home security. This set contains three switch sensors, a motion sensor and a base station.- Setup is a breeze. Kami has really figured out how to walk you through the setup through the app. I had all sensors online in under 10 minutes.- The Kami app lets you easily incorporate a Kami camera into your home security setup- This product is a great value when compared with cable company subscription options
