I prefer over the alternative Feline Fun House
I have owned and used both the Feline Fun House and the ABO Gear Happy Habitat for Indoor Cats. My cat preferred both, as all he wants is to be outside. I definitely prefer the ABO to the Feline Fun House. First, the ABO was $30 cheaper than the Feline Fun House. And truthfully, I think spending $70 on the Feline Fun House is too expensive for a "cat toy." $40 for the ABO was what I consider the max on a present for my cat. Other than price, I prefer the ABO for the following reasons. First, the ABO is easier to put together, and literally opens into form, when you take it out of the travel case. The Feline Funhouse Opened easily, but was impossible to break down after opening it. The one and only time I tried to break down the Feline Fun House, I spent 30 minutes trying to follow the "easy" break down directions, and ended up bending the support wires, and the Feline Funhouse never opened up fully again (since I accidentally bent the supports, in trying to break it down, to transport it.) The ABO is truly "easy" to open and can be broken down in an second. When the ABO is broken down, it actually fits back into the little bag it came in. There is no way the Feline Fun House would ever fit into the bag it came in when you try to break it down. The ABO breaks down so easily and is to small, that i will take it in my luggage when we travel with my cat. The ABO is also completely see though, as it is completely made out of mesh. The Feline Fun House has parts that are made of blue fabric that your cat can not see through. My cat can see in all directions without any obstruction in the ABO. The ABO is definitely larger then the Feline Fun House, in that it is taller. It may not be much larger in the base, where the cat sits, but the fact that it extends higher, makes it a larger enclosed space in general. My indoor cat is SO happy in this tent (as well as in the Feline Fun House) that I DEFINITELY recommend indoor cat owners try one model. My cat wakes me up every day meow-ing then running to the back door, wanting to be let out in the tent. Just a little note: I put heavy chairs on the edges of the tent to hold it down. My cat has discovered that if you run into the sides of the tent, it moves (as does the Feline Fun House). I have found both tents, across the large yard/ and street, (with my cat still inside). So if you dont pin it down, your Kitty could end up across the street. I dont think the stakes that came with the ABO are big and deep enough to really "pin" this tent down. I would not trust them. My cat is very large and could easily take off, and pull out the stakes that came with the ABO tent. The Feline FunHouse stakes are the same, and not deep enough. I opt for the heavy metal chairs on both ends of the tent. Just beware of this:)

Product is great! Our kitty is getting used to it after 2 "outings"
I have to say the tent itself is very well made, spacious and incredibly easy to set up. It arrived in a narrow long box. I took it out, pulled the string that attaches/snaps the thing into place and voila! Personally I think the mesh is pretty strong too - but I feel your cats claws should be at least slightly trimmed. Our cats were trimmed very short about a month ago and they've grown some since, but he hasn't torn it- thought he has tried! We got it today and have taken our cat outside twice for about 15-20 min each time. He seemed a bit uneasy the first time. He paced around like some caged tiger. Also he got scared by a loud car that drove past and started to head bunt the tent as if trying to escape! The second outing was a bit better. He didn't pace. He still looked a bit tentative but was able to relax a little more despite the loud children outside. I think there are moments where he forgets he is enclosed and suddenly tries to dart off- which of course means he crashes into the side. He bit at the tent and clawed a little, it didn't rip. Then he laid down for a while and seemed like he was more relaxed. I highly recommend putting treats, toys and something soft for your cat to lie on inside. I hope he starts to REALLY enjoy it. It's rather spacious (I fit inside!)and easy to setup so I hope he makes the most of it! We'll see- I'll write an update sometime :) P.S. I ordered early in the day and Amazon shipped it same day -AWESOME! UPDATE: After a few uses our cat seems to be more relaxed and is enjoying it. He took in the sights and later was laying down and playing with his toys. He didn't pace as much and didn't dart into the sides of the tent with his head anymore. I think it takes a bit of getting used to for some cats. Ours goes inside without a problem. He doesn't seem to want to be in for more than half an hour but he's starting to like it. I am glad because our house gets very warm and this gives him some fresh air. I do wish the mesh wasn't big enough for bugs to get in. Some flies got in. He had fun chasing them and stuff. I just don't want him to eat any (parasites!) but other than that I love this tent! It is SUPER easy to put up and take down. I take it down every night and just stick it in the shed. Easy - I hate anything that requires too much work hehe.

Best tent so far
I volunteer at a cat rescue and we use these tents to put the cats in while we clean their crates. I’ve only used this once but so far, this tent is amazing. Easy to open. no stupid ties to the bars, and reinforced at the corners and other places. It has a hook and knot at the zipper closure. It's amazingly well constructed. I’ve bought 4 others in the last number of months and sent them all back for various reasons. I’ll update if any problems.

This tent is perfect size, easy to erect, and easy to collapse- high quality materials
It is literally a pop up tent. You simply pull the top prong and poof! It’s a tent! Super easy to put up and collapse. I use for my cats bc my apartment won’t allow my cats out. They get no sun no time touching the earth. Most people don’t know when we make direct contact with the earth it actually reduces inflammation in the body by 80% there are many scientific test that revealed us. So my objective was to make sure that they had some contact with the ground. And bc bottom is mesh ... they can pull up blades of grass too. My one cat is skiddish... so I just left my material pet carrier inside the tent that made her feel more secure. The tent is very spacious it would be plenty of room for four cats frankly! Gives gives them the feeling of being completely outside but also protected. Love this tent!

Indoor Tent for Senior Cat
We were researching a way to provide a safe and comfortable private space for our 18 year old Senior Female cat named "Novia", without putting up barriers and making our place look like an institution. Our dwelling also houses a one year old white male cat named "Neon" and a one year old Female Jindo Dog named "Winter". They are friendly with Novia but are high energy, running around the house at 100MPH, occasionally teaming up to throw Novia around. We looked into certain kinds of indoor fences and pet gates but it just did not fit into the look of our place. Besides, we were interested in something that was covered from the top, is easy to assemble and put away, is cost friendly and can be used indoors. I immediately developed a liking to the "ABO GEAR HAPPY HABITAT" due to the price factor, ($35 at the time of my purchase) and the fact that so many people had given it good reviews. The size was just perfect as we did not want an indoor gazebo. Novia mostly sleeps all day and wakes up only for food so it became necessary to provide her a home within a home so she could feel safe when we are at work. Initial reactions after receiving the tent were mostly good and unboxing to opening to setup took less than 2 minutes. Clear Instructions with pictures are included but may not be required. All that needs to be done is to pull the two black cords on top which will snap all the joints in place. That's it! Tent Setup. We did realize that the tent was rather light and the coverings felt like mosquito net but it was good in a way providing plenty of ventilation. Upon Setup, we introduced Novia to her new space and discovered key factors of improvement in relation to our living situation. As our other cat Neon likes to get "Creative" like a mad scientist and explore loop-holes in everything, he did make every attempt to gain entry from all sides including the top of the tent to give his Grandma a hard time. We noticed that the tent was being squished in and pushed around everywhere because it was very light so we decided to reinforce it and add some traction. We covered the interior flooring with heavy bed sheets and several soft towels Novia loves to sleep on and moved the litter box and large pillows to the corners for weight distribution. after we filled up the litter box with sand and moved her food and water bowl inside as well, the tent felt very sturdy and did not move around at all but we faced another problem. Neon, after several unsuccessful attempts to gain access began to use his sharp claws between the netting to tease Novia. In order to protect the exterior netting from damage and being ripped open, we put a thick moving pad which had been lying around the house and put it on top of the tent. Surprisingly, the moving pad was large enough to cover the entire area of the tent on all sides and had a little more to spare on the floor. This worked out perfectly for everyone as for the last 3 or so days, Novia does not even feel like she wants to step outside her little condo and is being fed all her tuna and crackers right there inside. she is very happy now. The front side of the tent has been positioned next to one of the windows she likes to look out of. The two pillows i mentioned about earlier are stacked one on top of the other so she is elevated to the window level. Neon on the other hand made several attempts to scratch the pad but even his sharp claws cant go through the thick material in the pads. We did not want him to be too depressed so we ordered him a 4 level cat tree with several scratch posts that he loves. He sleeps on the top most level and now teases our dog Winter. As far is Winter is concerned, she received a Memory Foam dog bed of her own so everyone is happy now. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to use it for indoors. Although not perfect out of the box, with a little tweaking and creativity i think you can get most out of it.

We LOVE the Happy Habitat + ABO Gear Fun Runs
The tent goes up and down in seconds, which is really helpful because sometimes Kitty gets out the door before I do. She runs to her spot and I need to get the tent up quickly before she goes visiting neighbors! If it's up fast enough and the door is open, she runs right in. I also have had three 5' Abo Fun Runs for 6 years and Kitty LOVES them, whether they are all zipped together or just a 5' segment at a time. I got the Happy Habitat for her this Christmas, and though the mesh is just a little different, the tent door and tubes still zip together perfectly and easily. Over the years the Fun Run mesh has held up fine: it's the yellow stripes on the tubes that tear. It's easy to sew the tube's mesh to the wire forms with clear fishing line and I usually repair/reinforce them once a year. So now Kitty has a long tube (15') that leads to the tent and I can set this up in sunny and shady spots and change her play area according to whatever is most interesting at the moment. What I like about the Happy Habitat is that when I don't have a lot of time to play with the cat I can set just the tent up for her quickly and she's happy to be outside. She enjoys it more when I put some things in there with her - a fresh cardboard box to sit in, a few toys and a snack dispenser. The other nice thing about the tent is that she can quickly air dry on the patio after a bath and she has plenty of room to groom, stretch out and roll around. The Happy Habitat comes with stakes, but I can't use them on our current RV lot. Usually my 15 lb. chubster is enough to anchor the tent, and if the tubes are connected they also help keep it in place. The other day Kitty was in the tent without the tubes and yelled for help. The wind was blowing the tent end over end like a huge hamster ball and she was the hamster running inside! It would have blown down the street if it hadn't rolled up against our car. Even in the excitement, it only took a few seconds to grab the frame, unzip the door, and collapse the tent as soon as Kitty jumped out. The tent wasn't damaged and now Kitty assesses the wind speed before she gets off the porch. There are loops where the stakes go that will make it easy to bungee the tent to some anchor on breezy days. I love the options that all the ABO Gear pieces give us. Kitty used to be able to come and go at will, but now that we're full time RVers, I have to find ways to make her life interesting, yet keep her safe. The Happy Habitat just adds another dimension to "Kitty Enrichment Hour" and we're so glad we finally got one for her. BTW, someone gave us a Deluxe Kritter Kondo with the shade for the top. It's very expensive and her cats didn't like it. I thought Kitty would like it because she loved her Fun Run and the Kondo was so much bigger. For some reason she HATES it too, maybe the white mesh which is harder to see through than the black mesh of the ABO products. The Happy Habitat is easier to set up, lighter to carry, packs smaller even though I think it's actually more square feet, and Kitty likes to be in it. The Kitty Kondo is headed for Craig's list next.

Create a collapsible outdoor cat run with a few minor adjustments.
This is the most cost-effective, quality product for accomplishing my goals: to allow my indoor cats a way to walk outdoors and lounge outside on the grass/in the sunshine outside our first floor patio. First - set your expectations. Do you want to just put your cats out in the tent? Mine (medium sized) didn't like just being zipped up in the tent. I had to actually use the tunnel (ABO Gear Fun Run ABO Gear Fun Run ) to create a path from the back door to the tent. This allowed my two cats to explore the enclosure on their own terms, and run back inside when they were frightened. Their ability to control when they are in the tent seems to play a huge part in their enjoyment of it. The tent itself is made of high-quality mesh. Set up took seconds. Despite attempts to pick it apart from my puzzle-minded cat, and him charging a chihuahua walking by, he was not able to get through it. Note: if your cat is an escape artist, defensive of his territory, etc. make sure to weight down or stake the corners. As another reviewer stated, a determined cat could potentially roll or walk this enclosure away if not secured appropriately. I was able to tightly zip one end of the Fun Run into the tent opening, but I will need to fasten the zipped openings more securely if I want to leave the cats unsupervised. The fun run extends from our backdoor to the opening of the tent. We secured the end in the sliding glass door by closing the door around the end, partially wedging it in the frame. We put a large piece of cardboard above the opening, but will need to find a better way to secure it to keep the cats from pushing it out before I leave them without constant supervision. (One of our cats is an escape artist). As with all square spaces, there are triangular shaped openings around the circular fun run inserted into the back sliding door area, even when secured in the door. This means small kittens, or cats who can squeeze themselves into small spaces, may be able to use this as an avenue of escape if the fun run isn't secured immovably. Our medium-sized cats were not able to get out (despite some very determined efforts by our resident escape artist). I may try to create a plywood insert for our door, and cut a hole for the entrance/paint it/etc. just for a more permanent nicer-looking solution, but for now, I don't mind just using the cardboard and keeping an eye on them. All in all, I spent $60 between the fun run and tent. Since my condo has a lot of stringent rules regarding porch spaces, this is perfect for our situation. I like having indoor cats, but I am happy to provide themselves some outdoor time too.

Keeps my sweet kitty SAFE!!! YAY!
I just rescued a kitten about 2-3 months old and wanted a safe secure place for him as he adjusts to his new environment. This not only keeps him safe but also keeps him from destroying our home (especially while away at work). This item is very roomy and his soft carry crate fits in it and a large litter box as well as many toys and scratcher's. This item also was extremely easy to set up and easily portable. My kitten "Coconut" has scaled the mesh with his claws and has not put a single tear or rip anywhere so I would also say that I am very very pleased with the durability. He has seriously tested this tent he runs jumps hangs on and scales it like Spiderman, lol, no holes or damage at all! This can be toted outdoors as well so he can lounge with me while I enjoy the outdoors and my back yard with him safe by my side. I love the fact that he can safely get some fresh air. The main thing I love about this product is safety for my sweet furry baby :) I had a cat years ago that was indoor/outdoor and I actually saw a neighbor abusing him one day!!!! I felt horrified and naive and guilty! That cat had been coming home a bit beat up occasionally (he hated being indoors though)..and I'm sure it was a mix of cat fighting and what I saw that neighbor doing (yes I did let that guy have it-I am a tall woman who works out regularly to keep fit/strong/healthy and I told that puny little guy off in front of all his guy friends! What a loser!! Anyway this product is a great solution and me and Coconut love it! No worries about people doing cruel acts or him getting hit by a car or hurt by letting him roam free (it's just not safe out there and I really want to get that message across). I also bought from Amazon a large soft sided portable dog play/pen kennel, so needless to say my little Coconut is pretty set :)
