Dye is great...packaging isn't
This dye did a great job on the pillow shams, nice vibrant color! I followed the directions for dying on top of the stove, stirring for about 30 minutes, then washing in cold water. My issue is that the little plastic envelope that held the very fine dye powder was ruptured and scattered throughout all other packaging-- the light cardstock packaging with directions, and the outer plastic bag that held the cardstock wrapping, which may have been a flattened box. As soon as I removed the outer bag from the Amazon package, I had dye powder on my hands and the kitchen counter. It took a lot of wiping up from each layer of unwrapping. Maybe this should have sent in something more substantial than a padded Amazon envelope. I do think the dye works great!

Excellent dye that delivers the color advertised.
This dye is a little hard to use if you need a small amount. The package is designed to dissolve in the washer. Making small batches is tricky. This is a powder dye that is very strong. A little goes a long way. When using this product I would recommend trying a half package to validate the color. This dye is strong and dyes to a deep color easily. This is a fine product and I recommend highly. It actually dyes the color you want unlike the common "R" type that is a gamble every time you use it. Forget the "R" dye and use this stuff.

Follow directions inside the packet
I have never been able to perfectly dye a garment. And this dye works pretty good. I defintely prefer it to Rit. This one is for natural fabric. I bought one packet to dye a white cotton shirt to ecru color. At first I didn't thoroughly follow the directions. And so it didn't turn out great. So I bought another packet, decided to be more disciplined and thoroughly follow the directions and it worked out much much better. Some comments:- It's most likely better to dye in hot water in a pot on a stove as directed. And not in the washing machine.- Make sure to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS inside the packet. For example: if cotton, add one cup of non-iodized salt, no less. By doing so, the dye pigments "gripped" to the shirt like magnets.- It's very EASY to use.- It's not messy.- There's no funky odor at all.- It's better to leave the garment to dye for at least an hour I think.- Stir and turn the garment often. Don't just leave it to sit in the dye. Have to work it.The result:- My shirt is made of rather thin cotton fabric. It absorbed the dye well. It's evenly dyed for the most part. But not everywhere and this I has do do with some rest of stain. And so the back of the shirt is pretty evenly dyed. The front has areas with old stains invisble to the naked eyes. But those stains altered those areas and so there's a bit of uneveness there.- Dyed, my shirt looks casual, bohemian style.... It is what I was going for so I am happy with the result. I'll buy again.

This dye worked great!
I am thrilled with the effectiveness of this dye - very consistent result, true color, and simple instructions. I have a king-size sheet set (flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases) that I wanted to dye olive green. I found this iDye product on Amazon. I was a little concerned, since there was only one review and I didn't want to ruin what are fairly new and expensive sheets. They were a mint green that clashes with our other colors. (Note iDye has this product for natural fabrics and a different dye for polyester and nylon blends.)Anyway, I took the plunge hoping for the best. I decided to do the entire sheet set at one time and diligently followed the instructions that came with the dye. I used a top-load washing machine and two packets of dye (based on the weight of sheet set). Since the fabric needed to be pre-wetted, I simply washed the sheets first and set them aside. Then I turned the temperature up on our hot water heater and gave it time to heat - this might not be necessary, but the instructions make it clear that you need very hot water. Then, I filled the machine to medium load (normally I wash them on high load, but this was just enough room for them to move freely). I added the two soluble dye packets and let them agitate for 30 seconds, added 1-1/2 cups of Morton Plain Salt (non-iodized), and added the sheet set. I extended the dyeing time to 60 minutes, per the instructions for better fixation, by resetting the wash cycle several times before it drained to move to the rinse cycle. After that, I let the cycle complete and washed the sheet set from start with a mild detergent in cold water. Then into the dryer. I turned the water heater back to normal and ran a cleaning wash/rinse cycle. I'm providing the detail in case it's helpful. It might seem like a lot, but was actually quite simple. The sheets are now back on the bed - they look and feel great. I don't expect any trouble, but I'll add info if something goes wrong as we use and wash the sheets. Finally, I had to answer some questions about this "toy" - since the dye is sold by a toy store and fulfilled by Amazon. I picked the highest ratings, but have nothing to do with the toy questions.

Takes hours of rinsing to remove this dye from your washing machine!
This dye worked fine, not the best, the colour was ok , dark but more greeny than grey. However it took me running my machine 9 times after the dye was added and the rinse wash was preformed on the dyed items. That 9 3hour cycles totalling 27h of washing!!!I put a colour catcher in each wash to see if the dye was still present see photos and I was shocked at the results. After cycle 3 was still grey I added bleach to the drum as stated by the website as a last resort and it turned the grey dye pink! Finally after the 9th cycle the colour catcher came out white.I’ve used Dylon machine dyes in the past and they are more expensive but definitely don’t stay in your machine as long. Thank goodness I didn’t wash my white company sheets in here without 27 h of rinsing!!!Would not recommend will not use it again. It’s cost me a fortune in running costs.

Ruins subsequent washes
This dyes fabric beautifully.BUT despite washing the dyed garment straight away and running the empty machine through SEVERAL wash cycles afterwards, including once with bleach, subsequent white washes were tinged with pink. Bedsheets, T-shirts and pillowcases ruined. Not just once but quite a few loads. The dye just wouldn’t wash out of the machine. Cannot recommend this product at all.

What a transformation - amazing dye!
I picked up a free armchair off of FB marketplace hoping that we could get a slipcover made. We were quoted £££s so we thought we could take the removable covers off and try dying them. Great decision! Look at the before and after! Like a new armchair! 👍🏻
