Tactical Men's Tab 6-Inch Zip Boot Work Boot

I have worn tactical boots daily for over 15 years, not only full boots, but also these 3/4 ones. I am also a hunter, so have worn my share of hunting boots as well. That being said, i think these are the most comfortable boots, out of the box, that I have ever owned.I tried them on using very thin, lightweight athletic socks, and they felt great. When I put them on this morning, I had enough confidence in the feel and comfort to not wear heavyweight boot socks, and instead went with midweight boot socks. I was not disappointed at all, nor do I have any blisters or sore spots.The break in period was about 1 hour, and ever since, they have molded quite well to my feet...or vice versa. Either way, they do not squeak, slip, and the laces have not loosened up after I initially set them this morning. I took these to an indoor shooting range to break them in. I didn't feel any loss of traction on the concrete floors, and unlike any other boots I own, I did not walk off the range with brass stuck between the lugs...kind of a nice unintended bonus in my world. I have worn all of my boots (to include Danners, Bates, 5.11, and Converse) to this particular range, and none are as comfortable as these.I was a little mystified by the extra-long laces, but did the good ol'fashioned grade-school double knot, which took up all the slack quite nicely.I like the athletic-shoe feel and comfort of this boot. I also like the loop at the back top of the boot for pulling the boot on. The last pair of 3/4 boots I bought (Converse) was one of the few I could find with that loop, and they fit like I was a 9 year old playing dress-up with dad's boots.I like the lightweight approach New Balance took in this boot. This boot is close to a cross training shoe in weight. I like the toe cap as well; the ends feel soft, so my toes are not crushed, but the tip is traditionally rigid, probably enough to withstand a drop test with a 45 pound case of ammo. Not that I have dropped ammo on my feet before :-P The heel cup has a nice feel to it as well, also a blend of athletic shoe and crush protection.The one thing I wish these boots had were kick off lugs on the back heels, so they could be removed without bending down and putting hands on areas where feet had trodden. Not a deal breaker though, IMHO.Keep in mind: I don't plan on using these boots in place of full tactical boots or to go hunting. For me, they will be used in a training environment, or in the office, or with jeans and a t-shirt on the weekend. So, for those uses, this boot is looking to be absolutely perfect.I can't comment yet on the overall construction/quality, since they are so new. So, if you are reading this and I have added nothing further, assume that the construction and quality are at the same level as the comfort.

These boots are incredibly comfortable. And I can't say enough about the attention to detail in design like rubberized zipper grips; pull-straps sewn in at multiple points(so they don't rip off in your hands like Doc Martens); & the angled zipper which allows SUCH easy taking on & off of the boots.They rock!!!If I were to have one complaint? The laces that come with them are too long because you'll never need to tie them with the zipper-up sides.Awesome product!

Not quite as comfy as there sneakers but very comfy for boots. Cleat Pattern throws dirt instead of tracking it in. Good finish and fit, excellent lacing and side zipper.

These are fine BASIC tactical boots ! I ordered them...one size to big (14M), as I have a pair of New Balance 577's & they are one size over also. The 577's walking shoes are 'all day comfy'...these 961's are 4/6 hr. comfortable...mainly because you start to feel the 'waffle' shape sole molding thru the foot liner....I use a heavy sock for colder weather..so these are a 3 season out door boots. The only defect I found was the liner was not stitched along the side zipper on the left boot. I think they were missed at final (or not any) inspection (should be a Factory second)? I accepted a 30% extra discount refund...rather than return them....I used BARGE leather cement to attach the liner...all is fine now...hope this helps....??

It was like walking on two bricks. I expected them to comfortable like New Balance sneakers, and they were not. A horrible boot do not buy, I sent it back but it cost me $6.00.

I love the fit and quality construction.Other brands were smaller. New Balance hit another homerun.I have used their tennis shoes for years and they are the only brand I buy now.I figured New Balance tactical boots would be of the same great quality and fit.I was correct.

Nice, but size 11 feels smaller to Tyde!!!!

I love these. I work in health care, and can have quite a bit of variability in how much I walk during the day. The only thing I did was add in some awesome insoles for my feet. The heel portion is a little larger than I needed, but I don't get too sore. Be sure to actually untie and tighten them periodically, I think that would help my heels too. I like the side-zip feature, it does make it easy for me to get these off at the end of the day when I'm tired. I wear these all day at work and then to the gun-range or out for an evening stroll with the family.
