Perfectly Easy Horchata And Tastes Like A Dream
Please donโt ever stop making this! Rice Dream Horchata is AMAZING!!! I put it in the fridge to chill and I pour myself a full cup. It tastes incredible! Itโs smooth and has the perfect amount of sweetness. Itโs shelf stable. I purchased 6 of them. I put them in my cabinet and I put 2 in the fridge to get them nice and cold. Thatโs all there is to it for me. You can add more cinnamon if you want to and you can add ice too. If you want it to last a little longer, you could add some Rice Dream Vanilla as well. I love it just like it is. Itโs really an easy drink and it tastes delicious. The ingredients are perfect. I love the thickness of it too. I wasnโt sure if it was going to be watered down, but it wasnโt at all. Itโs perfect and the makers know what theyโre doing, since they make rice milk anyway. Amazon, please continue to sell this and I will buy more. Itโs expensive, but what isnโt expensive these days? Itโs a great treat and awesome splurge every now and then. No mixing required. Just chill, drink, and enjoy.

Love Cinnamon?
Lovely taste of cinnamon. Delicious in coffee, on ice or cereal.

Best commercial horchata!
I'm an horchata addict, but I think the ones at most of our local restaurants and taco stands are way too sweet. I make it at home exactly to my taste, but when I want it immediately, this brand is perfect. We definitely add cinnamon to this, but that's what we do with my homemade horchata. Better to add based on your own preference than have it be too strong. Be sure to serve it over ice! One more thing...we think that some boxes taste a bit different from each other...or it could be we're just thirstier? Not sure, but in any case, we always like it. Edit: Someone asked a question about expiration dates and someone gave a one-star review for expiration date. I purchased one case on June 23, 2016 and it has a "best used by" date of Feb 15, 2017. I purchased another case a week or so later and it also had a Feb 15, 2017 best by date. These were better dates than our local grocery store. Cheaper, too. Edit #2, 06/07/2017: I did eventually receive one carton with a recent expiration date. Amazon responded immediately and shipped out the new case. Very easy. Also, I decided I should share my best tips! I'm like an horchata geek now, lol! Tip #1) Most recipes for homemade horchata call for Mexican cinnamon. We like to sprinkle extra on our homemade and Rice Dream horchata. After research, I found that the Mexican cinnamon is actually Ceylon cinnamon from Sri Lanka and is a bit milder, and maybe a little bit sweeter. The bark is also softer. I've purchased the Ceylon bark and ground Ceylon cinnamon on Amazon. Frontier brand. Great product! Also, I can definitely taste the difference and I love the Ceylon. In the US and Canada, we apparently use primarily Cassia cinnamon (from China, Indonesia, India, Vietnam.) Costco sells it as Saigon cinnamon. It's a stronger tasting cinnamon to me and I still prefer it in my baking and cinnamon toast. Tip #2: I was running low on Rice Dream Horchata. It is rarely found in grocery stores around here. Rice Dream (plain or vanilla) is readily available. I decided to add some vanilla Rice Dream to stretch it and it worked well! It was still very tasty. I added more Ceylon cinnamon to my taste and was pleased. Now, if the brand would just eliminate carrageenan, I would be even happier. Cheers!

Better than orange juice, Coca Cola and Mountain Dew combined
Better than orange juice, Coca Cola and Mountain Dew combined (not together, just of any other drink I've had since milk as a kid). I decided to cut back dairy, bread and red meat for my 80 something Mom and I (including store pizza, cheese and such). I've been ordering boxes of aseptic Soy and Almond milks looking for some good flavor, variation and low price; combining flavors with soy and whey proteins in a blender for a daily protein shake as a nutritional supplement - as recommended for her by her doctor. (The protein has helped my senior Mom recover badly needed lower body strength, and actually our high blood pressure problems have disappeared. She is mentally sharper.) ... Looking at prices and availability through my Amazon prime account the horchata sounded interesting enough to try - Amazon prime because I don't think I would want any grocery goods shipping more than a day or so. In fact I prefer to order up when a product is temporarily out of stock so that there is a better chance it has not been sitting in their warehouse very long. While all of the flavors of other products have been ok; even great when combined and mixed with other flavors (bananas, yogurt, (mint)-chocolate, misc. fruits and flavors) the horchata is delicious right out of the box - the delivered case had a ruptured box leaking into the shipping box (and delivery truck) and I drank a glass poured off straight - yea, I'm kinda gross sometimes. It was like the long ago taste of cinnamon toast without the toast (and loads of added sugar and butter). So I use the horchata alone for some of the soy and whey protein shakes (with a little Guar gum to thicken it maybe) and no ice needed with the boxes in the fridge. It makes up a little for pizzas and stuff. I think this is the start of something special...

Much better than expected
After reading the reviews I wasn't sure what to expect but I took the chance because I've been craving horchata for a while and can't find it around here. I was very pleasantly surprised. Not too sweet as some had said. It just has to be shaken well before poured out. I always drink it over ice and generally the ice melts before I'm finished so it's sweeter in the beginning before the ice waters it down. If you like it sweeter either don't add ice or add a little sugar. If you like it less sweet, either add a little water or ice. I've been having some stomach issues lately and I think the rice milk helped a lot. If you can't make it yourself, this is the next best thing. I highly recommend it. ๐
