## Description

For shine and color like no other, this is a brass plated steel chain mail shirt made from 16 gauge steel links plated with brass and butted together. It will fit a person with a chest no larger than 54 inches. The torso section is 33 inches long so as to cover the tops of your legs and the sleeves will hang down just past your elbows. The shirt weighs approximately 23 pounds. The pictured model is 6'1 inches tall and has a 33 inch waist.

Review: Really quite nice. If you're thinking about getting it, get it - 23 pounds, on the heavy side. It arrived clean, shiny, dust-free, and oil-free (thank goodness). The sleeves on mine go down to mid-forearm and look like they are belled, because of the wide opening, but are actually a straight, generous 8" cylinder straight from the shoulder on down. The rings are clipped, not welded nor riveted, which is why it costs $300 and not $3,000. The jump-rings still have a tiny opening in them, which catches and pulls on arm hairs, to be expected. Shirt comes down to mid-thigh. Bracers, belt, helmet, and axe shown in the model are obviously not included; no, the bracers are not part of the mail. Looks like it's probably made in India. Solid, well-constructed; the rings do not bend. The one thing is that the head opening as supplied is quite tight on mine. Chainmail is hard to take off by yourself, and the hole should accommodate your face; this one only comes off over the top of my head, and it pinches my ears. Well, I do have a large head. The secret here, for a one-size-fits-all, is to take a pair of needlenose pliers and unknit one or two of the rows around the neck. Much easier to take off rings than to add them. I got the brass because the golden armor simply looks outstanding, and I expect the brass to not rust and hold up over the years much better than steel. If you're thinking about getting chainmail, I recommend getting the brass version. A really nice piece.
