Killer Zoom
I bought this camera refurbished for $90. I had experience with its 7MP predecessor, so trusted that it would be quality.Photos are crisp and clear, even in low light conditions without flash. The manual setting allows you to play with all the photographic parameters, although a professional would hate to have to go through several menu options just to adjust the ISO setting. For anyone else, this won't be a problem. The menu is clear and easy to use. Switching the factory programed lighting settings (party, portrait, night, beach, snow, etc.) can be done very quickly. And shutter response time for action shots is very good. There is a delay though, when taking photos in low light with or without flash.Videos are mp4 format. The quality is what you would expect from a camera, comparable to a lot of what you see on youtube. It's adequate. I have no complaints, especially since it allows you to zoom while recording, which its 7MP predecessor did not. What I really love though, is the zoom abilities of this camera. There's a 3x optical zoom, but if you've selected the right menu option, the digital zoom kicks in once you've maxed out at 3x. I'm not sure how many x's the diital zoom adds, but I was able to zoom in on a jet plane flying at high altitude and get a clear photograph of it when to the naked eye, all you saw was a dot with a white streak trailing behind it....

Fujifilm Finepix Z20fd
I specifically wanted a simple, compact camera for snapshots and to take pictures of merchandise for online auctions. I'm pleased with having chosen the Z20fd. There is neither a telescoping lens nor an automated lens cover to malfunction. The manually-sliding front panel (shown in the open position in the product picture) functions as a lens and flash cover and is the camera's power switch. There is a large viewing screen and operating sounds can be silenced for unobtrusive use. There are plenty of operating options including an auction setting where multiple images can be included in a single frame. A memory card must be purchased separately (but the camera can be used out-of-the-box with approximately 45MB built-in memory). A separate wall charger for the lithium-ion battery is included; I bought an extra cell to keep handy for a quick switch when camera power runs low; without a spare, the camera is out of action while the battery is removed for charging. All things considered, I'm very happy with this little camera!

Lowered standards?
Has the world gone mad? Have we lowered our standards when it comes to quality? I mean, I just dont understand why anyone would rate a camera on anything other than PICTURE QUALITY. A camera is for...get a load of this,,,,taking pictures. It's not for pushing buttons and doing back flips. Just for taking pictures. At least, that's what I think. Anyway, it is MY OPINION that this camera STINKS. Simply put, the pictures come out grainy or out of focus or, grainy and out of focus. GARBAGE. I realize that this is no SLR, but can someone not invent a point-and-shoot that takes a picture that is at least in focus? What year is this again? This is my second try with a point and shoot. So far, I've had no luck. Next up...Canon SD1200.

Rugged Gift for Teenage Girl
I got this camera as a holliday gift for my 19 year old daughter. She loves it. I purchased it according to a need for durability, indestructibility, and general sturdiness against abuse. Previous bad experience with cameras that have motorized lenses that pop out when energized. All moving lense parts on this camera are contained inside the camera body. Also bought the original Z1 about three years ago for my older daughter & it's still going strong after trips through Europe, South America, & Central America. Now that you can get SD cards that hold up to 2 or 4 gigs, the kids can keep taking pictures until they're fingers get sore. It also has a good battery & power system that allows several days of use before recharging. Wish it had the cool recharger base like the original Z1 had. Oh yeah - my daughters favorite color is Teal - Blue. So it was a no brainer after that.

It's pretty average
This isn't a bad camera, but it isn't great either. It is really just average. The photos are decent quality, but tend to be very grainy even in full light. I'm not happy with the flash. The LCD flash is too bright and white, imo. The idea of a point and shoot is that you don't have to mess around with it too much when you want to take a picture, but with the flash being so bright it defeats the purpose. The pictures look great if it is really bright or really dark. Anything in between the flash will wash things out unless you play with the settings. The location of the lens is not a good thing, either. I am constantly getting my thumb in front of it.The camera has some good qualities. It's very small and light. The color is cute. 10MP means it can take very large pictures. The lens cover protects the lens and automatically turns the camera on, which is a very nice feature. It is possible, with some messing around with settings, to get very nice pictures. It does take fantastic video in different light settings. If I had bought it to take video I might be happier with it.So it isn't all bad, and it isn't all good. As I said in the beginning, it is average. If I had it to do over again I would have bought something different.

what a cool, tiny, and durable camera---and cheap!
I have this camera for about one week, took aobut 130 pics, using all the different shooting modes available.1. shooting modes are very intuititve and easy to use2. great quality pics, i bought the 2Gb card, you can store and take up to 800 pics of the best quality shots3. I saw the same camera in Target at $1804. it fits inside my little purse, it is no bigger than my motorola cell phone5. I was so happy with this little thing, taking pictures of houses, plants, swinging it aorund my wrist, and .... slipped off my hand hitting hard on a concrete pathway....and it survived!! It suffered no damages except for the few ugly nicks on the chrome part (stupid me).I am so happy!!
