Energy Ultra Black Energy Drink 473 ml

All positive with Monster Products especially the sugar free ones. I find this product tasty and very refreshing and does revitalise me when I need it. I prefer it to a different brand of energy drink I used to be a fan off until I discovered Monster and been a big fan ever since.

Used to buy these in the supermarket but now can't get them

I ordered these over 3 months ago but I'm writing a review now because of seeing them on the shelf in a nearby tesco recently. The flavour is great, dark cherry with a little hint of citrus (not sure if it's lemon, lime or anything) although if you don't enjoy slightly odd aftertastes i wouldn't recommend these if that's not what you like as the aftertaste IS similar to cranberry juice. However, for the condition i remember them coming in which was fairly banged up and multiple of the cans had dents and i was worried at least one of them were going to explode. £20 for 12 cans had me REALLY contemplating whether to get them or not though. Personally, i wouldn't say the worth is £20 for these twelve.

I accidentally purchased these and have been more than happy with the drink since. I now don't bother with the Lager - Monster is a thirst quencher and simply very nice I still have lager sitting waiting, however, when I want a drink I pass them and choose the Monster Energy. I could drink another with the Lager as it never quenched my thirst... Now just one Monster and I'm a happy chappie.

Taste and zero sugar

Not as good as the other Sugar free Monsters like the Ultra Violet, Red and White. The Black tastes like a watered down berry fizzy drink, a bit of a flop.

Delivery was quick and Monster is Monster.

It's okay but you could put this and the white can next to each other and taste no difference, one of the weakest 'cherry' flavoured drinks I've tried

When I was a mere sprat, my grandmother and I would purchase a specific type of Black Cherry Soda. It hasn't been made in over twenty years now, and my grandmother passed in 2007. Even when I aged in years, I would very once in awhile have a Black Cherry Wine Cooler, as when I was of legal age, I would get Peach flavored coolers for my grandmother, and Black Cherry for myself. What does all this mean? It means the flavor of these Ultra Black Monsters have a sour overbite, with a Cherry mash flavor on the backwash. Much like the old Black Cherry Sodas had, and like the Wine Coolers too, just substitute caffeine for alcohol content and you have a similar taste. 150MG Caffeine content per can, with 10 Calories to boot, and it tastes like a childhood of fond memories. What more could you want? Chill 'em for 45 minutes in the freezer before drinking. So many reviews, yet few on this Amazon exclusive flavor[at least in the US]. Personally, if you like Black Cherry, this is a no-brainer. To anyone who doesn't like sour Cherry, you simply will not like Ultra Black. Do have wonderful day, hopefully, with more wisdom than the last.
