Good product. Bolted right in the motor.

Although slightly different from the unit being replaced and completely lacking any documentation, this starter got here early and unharmed. It worked on the first try with such enthusiasm that it led me to believe that the starter I broke trying to get it to work by tightening connections was, in fact, my real problem. AND, it was a quarter of the price that my local dealer was going to charge. This was not too good to be true, it was just awful darn good with no caveats.

I'll start by saying this is exactly as advertised. The starter fit well, looked good, and worked..... for about 5 starts. It gave out on us yesterday out in the middle of the lake and we ended up having to get towed back to our boat ramp... my BoatUS membership had expired so that was about $500, but that's a story for another day. This product had my hopes up as it worked well a few times and at the price point, can't beat it... but I would like more than 5 starts out of a starter before it gives out. DO NOT BUY unless your BoatUS membership is up to date!

Better than expected...

This is an Exact replacement for a Volvo Penta 4.3GL V6 Motor. It is almost impossible to fit it to the motor, tucked way down under and behind a motor mount. But once I got it in, everything bolted right up. It is painted black in all the right places. The original Volvo's starter is red and it still works but finding the brushes for it is also hard to find. This is the one to get.

Correct fit for my application. The starter works as expected with no issues.
