Review: Perfect if you are petite - I actually have a ball/base already, I purchased this one because of the back support. I wasn't sure if my back would actually lean against the back support or not? but it surprisingly gladly does. It really has good lumbar support and it's very comfortable to sit on. The ball in this base is smaller than my older one and I like it much better it sits lower and is perfect for my sewing machine table, although my preference is even lower at my sewing table, but this works pretty darn well. I wish they would have these with a hydraulic lift lol I have vinyl flooring and I thought the locks would not work and SLIDE AROUND, but they actually do give the wheels a little more grip when engaged.. On a slippery floor overall it's much more comfortable than my backless ball chair. I really love the color and it seems pretty sturdy. You don't have to fill the ball up too much like I said it's a lot smaller than my original chair that I purchased a few years back, I used an electric air pump, not the one that came with the chair. Review: Work your core while working at your desk! - First be sure to put the back on correctly...it seems to LOOK like it should go the other way but then there is no back support if screwed on in reverse...like I did at first (oops!) So look at the photo as you put it on. I had read about these years ago and how they'd been shown to work your core--people were using just the balls without the chairs to do core work and balance work while at the desk, but the problem with that was the balls roll when you get up and are inconvenient. So I was reading several articles back when I was a diet coach and very into fitness at that time...and I really wanted once of these as they all raved about it in tests. Back then they were about 4 times the price they are now and so I passed because I was working in someone else's office then and had no desire to leave my nice chair there where things sometimes vanished at night anyway. So I am in the process of having a new office built (an expansion actually of an old one) and so it's time to also pick out some new furniture that works better for me. Why not feel better when I am working and have to sit? To be honest, I first chose the chair because I had an issue with my tailbone after a cycling accident and I wanted more cushion or "give" without an ugly coccyx donut that move around. This actually is SO comfortable--but it does work your core too. I mean, let's face it, it will not replace pushups but when I am doing lots of different things at my desk and moving my arms around (twists) I am forcing my core to maintain balance rather than my bum as I would on a regular chair. Plus the color is hip and fun too since I painting the office a very pale yellow on board-paneled walls and very pale green shelving. Fun and happy room for fun and happy work! Plus I am self-employed now so it's my office---unfortunately I clean it myself now, but I also can leave cool things in it too like my hip chair.

New to Balance Ball use, but decided to take a chance based on so many good comments from others.
I was very concerned I would fall off first time trying to sit on never having been on a Balance Ball before and no reviews seem to mention that. Did not happen, it was easy to get used to sitting on it. I was sure to pump the ball to the recommended 22, but then when I went to place it in the chair, it was too large to get in without removing the bar in front. Thought maybe I had the back reversed as that was stated as something to be very careful about, but I did not. It actually took 2 of us to get the bar back in place with the ball in. I checked my measurement and it was at the recommended size. I started at the full recommended size, and used a foot rest to have my legs at the 90 degree angle. The hardest part about that was getting on the chair. Once on (by placing chair against wall), I could easily balance and roll to my desk. I am 5.2 and have actually let air out as my feet did not touch the floor and I felt like I was not sitting up properly. I am actually higher at my desk using it, than a regular chair. I have had it for over 2 weeks and have had no desire to return to my regular chair. I am still getting used to it and at times feel some discomfort in my back probably because I am not always sitting properly, but I think this is just a matter of time and it does make me sit better than what I did before. I do not find myself twisted, no longer sit on my foot and go home in less pain. Before, I could not wait to get the heat from the seat of my car on my back. When you feel discomfort, it makes you reposition and think about it. When assembling, it says to put the locks on the back wheels but I did install in the front as I prefer to lean over to unlock if needed, rather than not be able to reach the locks at all when sitting. I am not on carpet and can still roll slightly, just with difficulty. With the wheels not locked, need to be careful how far I reach as a sudden roll is somewhat unexpected. I get lots of comments and everyone loves the purple.

great relief for back compression and cute (the bad reviews didn't put it together right ;P)
I bought this and then read the bad reviews later, I figured with the amount of reviews and still being a high rating had to be good - soooo glad I did. I went back and read the bad reviews later, people! Because of this I too was like hmm, this ball looks awful small when I unpacked it and is it the purple that has more issue? NO. So, first of all, I was able to get it pumped to the right size the first night in less than 5 minutes with the provided pump. It did indeed look small, but I pumped it up half way let it sit a little bit and then pumped it up more (and guess what it is perfect). I am 5'2" and it brings me to a great height at my work provided desk. The ball is a little thicker and better quality than an average fitness ball, so that may be why it looks like it is pumped all the way and to small. It seems that some of the same reviewers that said ball to small, also have the back rest on backwards :| I LOVE it and am so glad I purchased. Can already feel the weight of compressed spine I used to feel from chairs being relieved. * It rolls nicely (I'm on carpet so not worried about to much roll) * Is more stable and thicker material than just an exercise ball * I like having the back support * it is uber cute with (like the purple and black) * Thank you Gaiam for a great chair at a reasonable cost - this has made sooo much difference!!!

Seems crazy, but helps with back pain!
I had a coworker who had one of these, and it always seemed silly to me. I assumed she just liked it because it was trendy. I have back problems. Mostly sciatica, but it can be very painful and debilitating. It had been aching and I felt that I was a few days away from a significant episode of my back going completely out, and I know it's from too much sitting at work, but due to the nature of my job, it can't be helped. Out of desperation, I asked my coworker if I could trade her chairs for a couple of days to see if it helped and possibly order one for myself. It was really awkward at first, and I felt unstable, but you get used to that. I think the beauty of these chairs for someone like me is that they force you to sit upright and make it really hard for you to sit in positions that seem comfortable at the time, but are really bad for your back. It's very hard to sit on this chair with one foot under you, which is my kryptonite. It's also short enough for my feet to touch the ground (you can adjust this a little by airing up the ball more or less for your height). After a couple of days of sitting on this thing, my back pain was less, and I'd gotten used to it. I ordered my own and I'm now a believer. If you have chronic back pain and spend most of your time sitting at work, I definitely recommend this chair.

Ball MUCH smaller than pictured
I was so excited to find this chair and quickly ordered a purple one because I like purple. Because some of the reviews said the purple ball was a bit smaller, I ordered the leg extensions, too, so it would be the proper height. A bit smaller! Try MUCH smaller. So small it doesn't fit the chair properly. Nor can I sit at the right height to type on my keyboard. I'm terribly disappointed in this product and think Gaiam should stop selling the purple ball unless they are going to make it the right size. In my pictures, in the front view, you can see how much lower the ball is on the back of the chair compared to the product images shown on Amazon. In the top view, you can see from the top view that the ball is not even close to the ball holder. Even when I sat on the ball, the ball holder did not touch the holder. The view of the ball next to the drawers shows how far short it is of the 21.5" mark it was supposed to inflate to. I followed the directions explicitly, inflating for 24 hours, deflating 50%, and re-inflating fully. It's not even close to the right size. By my measure, it's about 16.5" high, so it's a full FIVE INCHES smaller. I bought a Used - Like New and now I know why the previous buyer sent it back. It's irresponsible of Amazon to resell a defective product like this. My chair will be boxed up and returned as well and Amazon needs to contact Gaiam about this defective ball before selling this chair again.

The ball really isn't big enough
I like the set up of the chair as it makes balancing on the ball much more comfortable. I confess, I didn't measure my desk before I made this purchase as it seems like a generically sized object. When I received the original chair, which says it is good for someone between 5 feet and 5 feet 11, I couldn't sit on the ball comfortably while in the frame because my knees were so close to my chest--I did wait 24 hours for the full inflate and tried sitting again. It was still too short. I purchased the risers that can be added to the casters and added them to the chair. This added about 2.5 inches of height to the base. The ball is still too short and doesn't inflate enough to get me out of the "knees in the chest zone." I'm 5'7 is to 5'8. With the knee situation, the chair really didn't work for me as it is sold. I'm currently making do with a larger exercise ball that I had at home, but I don't recommend buying this product as a single unit. It seems like the frame is an okay product, if short. The ball is tiny. Buying the frame, a larger ball, and the caster risers separately seems like the only way to make this really work.

I LOVE, LOOOOOVE this chair!
I work in an office and I sit more than 80% of my day. This chair is AWESOME! I have back problems (rods and a fusion) so, sitting in a "normal office chair" made the pain worse, to the point I couldn't considerate on my job. My back, hip, and even tailbone pain was so intense by sitting in a "normal office chair" all day, even after ergonomics "adjusted" I could barely stand properly after a full day at work and was getting headaches because I was adjusting my body unnaturally to accommodate for sitting so long, it became unbearable. One of my co-workers has a regular "ball" and uses it and suggested I try it. So, after researching and reading reviews I decided to give it a try. It took a few days to get use to but after just 2 weeks I have noticed a HUGE difference. I'm 5'2 so this is perfect for my height. I can't say it has taken away the pain completely but, it HAS helped by reducing the amount of stress on my body, back and hips and there is minimal pain at the end if the day. I did have to pump the ball a few times as it adjusts and stretches over time but, thats a minimal issue when the the outcome was reducing the back pain and headaches. Everyone had to try it out after I got it and I'm sure I will be seeing more in our office. I LOVE it and will be getting one for home as well. I'm VERY PLEASED!

The only office chair I can use!
IF YOU HAVE BACK AND/OR HIP PROBLEMS, THIS IS THE CHAIR FOR YOU!! I have back and hip issues and have tried a lot of different office chairs (some were very expensive orthopaedic chairs), and this chair is the only one I can comfortably sit in for a full day at the office. The yoga ball doesnโt put any pressure on my hips and tail bone and it forces me to sit straighter, which is great for my back. I also love how I can do back bends over it if Iโm feeling pressure in my spine. I have one at my place of work and just bought another one for my home office because I love it so much!

Strength and Support
A brilliant item, well worth the investment. Great of you need the back support. Can also start to build up that core strength whilst working. Get a laptop table to go with it.

Man achte auf das Porto, 79โฌ Der Ball ist ziemlich klein, fรผr den Sport vielleicht ganz gut, aber um am Schreibtisch zu sitzen zu niedrig.
