These are a nice weight - not super skinny, like the ones you see in traditional men's dress shoes, but not super fat either. These are the Goldilocks "just right" version: they are sturdy, but they don't look ridiculous and they are easy to lace through eyelets and tighten. I bought these to use in a pair of 5-eyelet, size 12.5 Dansko chef's shoes (the "Wyatt") that my son wears six nights a week while he slaves away as a cook in a high-end restaurant. They stay tied, which is a really good thing when he has literally no time to even re-tie a shoe!Bottom line: Definitely worth the price, and so far, they are lasting well. My son is hard on his shoes and laces (pulls them TIGHT) and has been known to go through a set of laces in a very short period of time.
