This also works to enable carplay, for aftermarket enabling for older BMWs, such as the F chassis that did not come with CarPlay enabled. The antenna is way too long for this use, but could be left coiled up behind the console.

I purchased this antenna as part of a project to enable Apple CarPlay in my 2015 BMW 420i Grand Coupe. My car came from factory with the NBT EVO head unit and iDrive4 software. This meant CarPlay was not an option. I needed to upgrade the software to ID6, and also install the wifi antenna in the back of the head unit (BMW uses wireless CarPlay only... no USB option. So the wifi antenna is essential). Put simply, it works perfectly. My only gripe is that the connector is straight, not L shaped like the OEM antenna would be. I'll attach a couple photos to show what I mean. Theres not a lot of room back behind the head unit... I feel there might be quite a lot of bend and pressure on the end of the cable because of its straight design. We'll see if it becomes an issue over time.

Installed in my 2018 bmw x3 G01 installed with a breeze connection was instant, fit was nice, signal was strong no issues allowed me to retro fit the car with Apple CarPlay 🤘

This antenna did not work at all. Plugged it in and unplugged and plugged in again, and it never actually extended the range. In order to use CarPlay in my BMW with this antenna, the phone had to be right next to the radio. In addition, the length of cable that was tucked behind the radio caused a rattle while driving. I got a new antenna on eBay (on the right in the picture) that is much smaller- just a small wire that's a couple inches long compared to this one which has several feet of wire and a large flat black piece. The new one can even be tucked right into the OEM cable wrap which keeps it steady back there. Highly recommend skipping this one and getting the smaller one on eBay- this one keeps the phone connected even when I'm several feet from the car whereas the Bingfu one doesn't even cover the interior. Don't waste your time taking the dash apart to put this in.

The signal strength is decent, and I noticed an improvement in my 4G LTE and Bluetooth connection once it was set up. The hidden antenna design keeps things clean and discreet, which is a nice touch if you want to maintain the car’s interior look. Overall, it’s a good, budget-friendly option for better signal and connectivity on the go.

When I first coded my Apple CarPlay, it was very laggy and didn’t really worked well unless my phone was near the screen. But once I plugged in this module, it started working great, the reception is great, it even works when my phone is outside the car. Overall great item and value for the money, recommend it fully.

Pricier than options that ship from China but you pay extra for the privilege of having it ship with Canada. Even tho the connector is not L-shaped, had no issues with the install. Many suggest placing the antenna behind the head unit, but instead I placed the end of the antenna/wire loops underneath the head unit behind that bottom plastic panel so it’s not blocked by the head unit So far works great.
