I bought this because last year, my umbrella went flying across the beach and I didn't want to relive that moment. I just got back from our beach trip and it was a life saver.The key is to dig a small hole first (once you hit damp sand, go maybe 4 inches deeper than that), THEN screw it into the ground, THEN you fill the hole back in with sand and pack it down. This makes it solid as a rock, but if you just try screwing it directly into the sand, it won't hold.I will also say the bag it comes with is just barely big enough and I find it kind of pointless, but I'm not worried about the quality of the bag. The actual product is sturdy and effective and that's all that matters to me.

We have 2 others of these and love them....but we did have to take off the screw-in end of our umbrella to use them. The ones on the umbrellas don't hold in very well...you can twist these down in a good ways. Love the gadget to hang things on also...I've bought extras of those for each umbrella since they weren't included with my other anchors.

I bought this in order to put my umbrella firmly into the sand at the beach. I cannot wait to use it!! It has a large screw type item to hold the umbrella in the stand once it is firmly dug down into the sand. It feels very sturdy and I am sure it will work great!!!

Really the only thing I had issue with is the black “carry bag” that came with in. Really cheap, the unit tore through the bag before we got to use it
