Light Fragrance, Beautiful Results!
Foremost, this has a really nice, light fragrance. It isn't heavy, cloying, or perfume-y. Instead, it's just a really nice complement to the overall line. Now, I used this directly after the Alterna Caviar shampoo and conditioner. Those gave me a really nice foundation for this spray. After I wash, condition, and towel dry my hair, I use a wide bristle brush for wet hair to remove all tangles. Then, I use this spray. Once I spray this all over my hair, I work it through with that same brush and then allow it to air dry. Oh my, the look! I have very long, very thick, naturally wavy hair. And, this spray creates the most tousled, right-off-the-beach, casually awesome look. Wow!Between the nice smell and the amazingly romantic-looking results, this is a grand-slam! Highly, highly recommended!

Nice Scent, Creates Texture, A Little Volume- AWFUL Spray Nozzle/Jet Spray
I like this Alterna Caviar Professional Styling Sea Salt Spray! I received a 147ml spray bottle.I do feel like it adds a bit of volume and definitely some nice texture. My curls look different with this-some subtle beachy waves. I sprayed some in my hair before going to work and tied my hair in a pony tail. Over 12 hours later, I took my hair tie out to let my hair down and it looked a lot different than it usually does after working. The waves were nice and intact and my hair wasn’t flat. I just really like the way this product makes my hair feel. For me, this is a nice addition to my other hair products, but not something I would probably use alone simply because my hair is so thick, wild, and curly/wavy, frizzy. For example, I liked the way my hair looks with this spray and a small pump or two of argan oil evenly applied throughout my hair.I personally think this product smells nice and I usually complain about fragrances. I’m so glad to see that it is the very last ingredient listed. For some reason it says unscented in the product description right now.One huge problem with this product is the sprayer!!!! Oh my goodness it is terrible. I was hoping for and expecting the product to come out as a fine mist for easy application, but no. It comes out super concentrated resembling a jet spray more than a mist. Obviously, this is terrible when trying to distribute the product evenly throughout hair. You will probably use more product attempting to spread it around and brush after spraying. You could spray on your hands and then apply, but that isn’t ideal. I guess you could transfer the product into another bottle or something, but for $30, I expect a fantastic fine mist.Anyway, I like this product overall and think it may be worth a try if you are into sea salt texturizing sprays and are able to look past a terribly spray nozzle. I hope my review was helpful in some way, and if so, I would love to know- thanks!!

nice mild scent. Good taming texture. Sprayer is too direct...
Honest review here. This is a very nice mild scented taming texture spray. That being said the sprayer on the bottle is way too direct.... needs to be more of a mister style that hits more of the hair and less direct aim. I actually spray it into my hand and them mix it into my hair from the ends up.I like that it adds texture but not stiffness if that makes sense. It also helps tame frizz and fly aways. I do combine with a frizz agent too...which helps. This product is great for people with full body hair (i.e. curly, texture or frizz). I live in Florida so I use this daily... I love that I can combine it with a leave in conditioner or anti-frizz product from the same brand and it helps!Hope this is useful!

Texture yes, Body no
Makes my hair gunky, but doesn’t give body. The Alterna Caviar Clinical Densifying soray works better.

Product is nice but the sprayer is a FAIL
What you get - one 5oz bottle of styling salt sprayPros - the product - when you can get it out - is great for creating texture and waves even on wigs.Cons - getting the product out is a pain. The sprayer / nozzle just is not good and clogs all the time.Overall for the price IF they changed the sprayer it would be worth it. It feels high end and does create really good texture.

Smells awful, "spray" is a pain to use
I'm usually very forgiving on hair products but this just sucks. It will give you sublte waves and texture or enhance your own curl a bit but I mean, at what cost? It smells very strongly of Cardamom spice to me to the point I looked at the ingredients to see if it was in the product. It lingers for hours to me and left me with a headache. I don't usually get bothered by fragrance in hair products but this one was just brutal to me.The nozzle is terrible, it doesn't mist out and comes like a jet or stream so it's a mess trying to get an even spritz on your hair unless you want to really work it into your hair root-to-tip. I have natural waves, I use salt/sugar sprays to enhance my wavy hair and add a bit more texture, I'm not about to disrupt my own hair pattern by brushing or combing my hair out to get this in evenly. WTF, no other salt spray I've used comes out of the nozzle like this! I had to spray it into my hands and scrunch it into my hair to make sure it was on every part and not just random spots on my head if I sprayed it on my hair.I'm glad I got it free for a review because I'd be so upset if I paid money for this. I won't be repurchasing and I doubt I'll continue trying to use it, this will be finding a new home.

Smells Nice And Creates A Tousled, Textured Look
I really like using texturizing sea salt sprays on my short, layered hair—the spray better defines a good haircut and end results produce a natural, tousled look. I’m partial to Alterna products in general, but really like this new sea salt spray for a variety of reasons. It smells nice, works as advertised and sprays consistently. The key for me is not to over-saturate hair with spray—I get best results by first spraying into my hands and then raking through my hair. It’s great for days when I want a relaxed, textured look that I just can’t get with stiffer gels, waxes or pomades. These type sprays also tone down my somewhat fly-away, dry hair.
