Why the sponge with a hole? it looks different from sage

That is where it sucks the secretions and liquid through. It connects to the suction machine. We really like these but still use a regular toothbrush brush daily. Hope that makes sense

You would have to buy or rent one from a medical supply store or Amazon; however, you should consult a medical professional to be sure you are getting what you need.

What are the dimensions of the sponge part?

The measurements are as follows: 1 in ht, 3/4 in across and 1/2 inch front to back. They are very similar to SAGE suction swabs. The price is comparable as Sage sends 2 in a pack and you receive them much quicker. These took over a month to arrive. Hope this helps.
