Coolgear Industrial 12-Port USB 3.0 Powered Hub for PC-MAC DIN-Rail Mount

You've likely searched for this hub because every other commercially available hub has failed you. Your drives dismount, your mouse stops working, not enough power some peripherals, not enough bandwidth for others.... This is the answer to these problems. This thing is a freakin' tank and has eliminated every problem I've had with every USB hub I've ever purchased. I could kick myself for not buying this in the first place and saving myself time and money. This hub is awesome!

I bought this hub to replace a hub that had problems shortly after the warranty ran out. This is my 4th USB 3 hub and the first 3 all had some kind of problem with the USB 3 but worked well with USB 2. That ranged from the computer not booting up when the hub was plugged in to USB 3 devices dropping in and out. So far this unit shows not sign of any problems. The case stays coll even when 3 hard drives, camera, mouse, keyboard and a USB DVD writer plugged in. Since the it does not come with a power supply I bought a Padarsey 110/220V to DC12V 10A 120W Switch Power Supply to use for it. It has more than enough power to run this and some external powered hard drives. Con: The local power comp. did something and caused about 10 power cliches within a few seconds and the hub now no longer works, it was hooked up to an UPS and the computer, power supply and the UPS all survived the power problems. This may have been a weak unit. While it worked it was great no drop outs every thing hooked to it worked great. Had to drop it to a 2. Gave it another try down graded to 1 star. the replacement was bad out of the box. the left and middle ports work but the right side was dead. returned for a refund. if you get one that works its great. Just received a replacement under warranty, 5 stars to the sellers for doing that. The replaced is working great. I left it a 4 stars only because I had two bad ones. I would not hesitate buy another one if the need would arise. 5 stars to Amazon for taking the other one back as fast as they did. Update: I have had this for a year and it has started to show problems with USB3 devices. USB2 devices seem to still be working fine. 1. Lights stop working when computer is rebooted. Items plugged in are still working, both USB 2 &3. 2. USB 3 devices fail to work 70% of the time when plugged in. To get them to work you have to plug them in and reboot the computer or plug them in during boot up. 3. When I plugged my Bluetooth trackball into it the, trackball became very erratic and unusable. 4. I’m still looking for a reliable USB 3 hub this one is not it.

I replaced a couple of cheapo hubs with this 12 port 3.0 hub. I have 10 hard drives feeding to a Lenovo ThinkPad...Never a hiccup! I recommend this for anyone connection hard drives to their computer. Please be sure to order the power supply. I had to go through the company that makes these to get the power supply. Don't know why it would not come with the hub.

These units are very low quality. Worked ok out of the box but went bad within a week or so. Definitely wouldn't recommend as there are plenty of other options out there.

This is a high quality box with 12 fast USB ports. I have yet to find a device that doesn't like it.

Good solid construction. You will need to buy the AC adapter to allow powered USB ports (3 pin connector).
