Is this shinny like chrome or dull like a normal brushed finish?** A: It has a light brushed finish to it with a little bit of shine, it is definitely not polished. **Q: the dimension from top to bottom of the device is 4.7"?** A: I have this device installed in a 1 1/2" thick granite counter top. When it is extended it sticks up 1 3/4" above the counter top. I am unable to measure the device from top to bottom. I have approx 3" sticking out below my counter top. **Q: Will this outlet power a stand mixer or coffee maker?** A: Absolutely! These are fantastic! My husband is an electrician and says this one is the one to use. It’s made of metal hardware and not plastic. It’s more pricey, but worth the money. Plus, it charges your phone when you set it on top of it! Score! We purchased two of them to go on both ends of the island.Also, we have 20 amp! You have a choice between 15 or 20 amp. My husband’s says you’ll need a whole lot to even need a 20 amp, like a freeze dryer, but we have it just in case. Most kitchens don’t need but a 15 amp.The new rules in Kentucky as of January 1, 2025 are to have these instead of the side outlets. We were grandfathered I’m with side outlets and our permit, so we chose to do both. The only thing to be careful of is placement — depending on depth of the countertop, you may need a shorter drawer box because this will require some space below the countertop and room to run the electrical.
