Yummy, fun reading
I read at two preschools and this book was a favorite at both places. I took a box of animal crackers so we could look at what animals might be in her box. Kids had a wonderful time saying the refrain along with me as I read and supplying the rhyming animal cracker name. I read it to my grandsons( 7 & 8 yrs) when they came for Christmas and they also gave it a thumbs up and wanted me to read the original book about the Gingerbread Girl. Really like that the gingerbread girl thinks of creative ways to solve her problems.

The cookie doesnโt get eaten
My wife is a Kindergarten teacher and her class loved this. She has 22 students and canโt pick from 100s of books, for her to have bought this one, it must be pretty good

like the animal crackers who are friends of the Gingerbread ...
This version of the original gingerbread boy is similar but has such pleasant twists, like the animal crackers who are friends of the Gingerbread Girl. Together they outsmart the wolf and it has a happy ending. My 5 year old granddaughter loved it! And nicely, the illustrations have an old fashioned quality that marries with the original story.

Bravo!
I just received the book today . . . read it to my 5 year old son (almost 6) and 8 year old daughter. Outstanding! Bravo to the author and illustrator. We absolutely loved the book. Too much fun! You won't be disappointed. The Gingerbread Girl receives a gift for her birthday. Animal Crackers. The animal crackers run outside to explore and the fun begins!

Great book!
I got this for my granddaughter who lives in another state. She loves it and my daughter-in-law bought some animal crackers for Christmas morning. My granddaughter LOVES the book. Very creative.

Great teaching vehicle!
This is a fun and engaging story, with a great ending. I use it and I he gingerbread man, the gingerbread baby, and gingerbread fred to teach story sequencing, compare and contrast speaking and writing to students in the primary grades.
