The problem is that the changing room at the therapy place does not have any type of mats to cover the whole floor and it is very slippery getting in and out to the pool. I tried finding pool shoes in my size locally and I had so many issues with finding them so I decided to order online. These do you fit a little large because it’s got a bit of an overhang in the back but they are right to the size for the width and t I am actually in pool therapy three times a week for a busted knee. They do not feel soggy or heavy at all when wet. In fact, they dry up quickly and are very breathable. With that said, great to walk on thin pathways and thin gravel. But surely, would need something thicker to be better protected from bigger stones or perhaps up river hiking. These are perfect for water sports and island walking. Mine felt too tight when I tried them on at home, but once I got them wet in the water, they were fine. In high surf, however, one of them came off, so be careful if the water you are in is rough, or maybe buy a too-tight size. My daughter found that hers rubbed the back of her heel too much to be comfortable, but I lived in mine. Great on hot sand, and did not fill with dry sand when walking on the beach like sandals would. Gripped well on rocks at the shore, even wet ones, and protected my feet from any rough spots on the ocean floor. I even wore them under swim fins and they prevented rubbing.
