Colorado Hardy Plants are just that... hardy! We have sought out plant varieties that provide low maintenance, use little or no water once established, and are simply hardy enough to grow where others don't. We grow and ship our plants in 5" or quart-size (in certain varieties) plastic containers. CHP is a small family operation! We propagate, pot, water, prune, and personally package the pants you order from us. Most of our plants are grown from cuttings taken from the plants or seeds collected nearby the nursery at an elevation of 6300 ft. Our weather is extreme with temps below 0 are common in the winter and intense sunlight all summer long. We don't grow plants in heated greenhouses, they have to be able to survive the elements! They are guaranteed to have a large root system that fills the container. The root system is the most important part of the plant. Please note that deciduous plants ordered in the winter months and early spring will have been pruned a minimum of 30% compared to photos and may have no leaves. Our nursery is also licensed and inspected by the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Nursery Division and holds a current Japanese Beetle Certificate. We only ship USPS Priority Mail, so your plants are sure to arrive quickly. You'll note in our feedback that our shipping process is a sight to behold. We love our customers so please don't hesitate to reach out via our website at www.coloradohardyplants.com"

Don't stand behind their products
I ordered 6 potentilla plants from this seller. Arrived in good condition. Since it was August I thought I'd report them and let them grow their root systems before planting in late September. Had them on a grow stand on a sheltered part of my deck sun part sun. They immediately looked sad and then all but one has died. Ordered them on August 8 contacted on Aug 26 to say they had died. They gave me a response that I should put them in the ground and they would grow. I am not a novice gardener and I know when a plant will recover.I understand if I contacted them months later but a couple weeks? I'm used to companies that respond to the problem. Would not recommend.

in the worst weather Michigan has seen for years (90 degrees
I ordered 3 shrubs, at the wrong time of the year, in the worst weather Michigan has seen for years (90 degrees, plus, for weeks). They arrived, they were smallish, but healthy, and doing what the instructions that came with them, told me to do, they are thriving. They were clean plants, no disease, no pests, and in very good shape. I am pleased. They've already grown a good inch or two. Thanks!

Beautiful and hardy plants
The plants arrived in a well packed box, with great instructions. I planted them two weeks ago and they are already producing flowers, and are are very healthy, so have a good feeling about the company and the care they take of their plants.

VERY DISAPPOINTED with the pink and white potentilla plants I ordered.
The scrawny (one stem and a few branches), plants arrived 8/19/19...dried up, looking dead in their 2 inch square containers. I put the containers a tray, set them on our screened porch and watered liberally for next week, then transplanted them into a raised bed area.. 3 of the 6 plants have a few green leaves, the other 3 DEAD. A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME AND ENERGY.

Seem to be happy and healthy
I ordered 6 of these. They arrived very well packaged with clear instructions on how to plant. They were right when they said to squeeze the plant out of the container rather than upend and pull out. All six are now in the ground and seem to be doing pretty well. Fingers crossed they stay that way!

First quality!
I have never found this variety for sale locally. They arrived in perfect condition because of good preparation and very careful packaging. The plants have good, stout trunks. I transplanted them just before sunset and have had no transplanting shock. I look forward to seeing how the develop in ground.
