24 Port 1U Rack Mountable CAT6 Patch Panel Pro RJ45 110 Network Mini Patch Pane Integrated Molding, No Rust, Durable(Cate6 Straight)

I bought a 12u network cabinet for the house and was fitting it out, so needed an easy to use patch panel for a beginner. I didn't want to mess around with punchdown tools and wiring the back of a panel in a loft, so was really pleased to find this patch panel which allows you to plug the RJ45 straight into the back of it. It's a well-made 1u rackmount panel, from the picture it looks a bit plastic but it's actually good thick steel plating. It's screwed straight into my cabinet no problem, plugged my feed cables in at the back and then patch cables round the front and I was up and running.

Works as it should RJ45’s are retained securely. Not seen any errors caused by using this patch panel

On the connections there were a few (2 or 3) out of the 24 that had extra plastic at the point at which you connect the RJ45 cable end. This meant the securing clip wasn't able to secure the cable. Easily fixed by scraping away at the excess plastic but could cause issues if you didn't realise, plus an added step that this is supposed to take away (when compared to a regular punch-down patch)

This patch panel has a issue where some of the back side rj45 ports do not function properly and do not click into place causing a loose connection and the cable can really easily disconnect and i have to skip some ports because of it

Makes life easy in a small setup that does not have managed cabling.

Good product

I recently bought two of these patch panels for a home network project. There were several reviews on here that mentioned defective ports but I wasn’t especially concerned because I didn’t plan to use all of the ports anytime soon. Even so, I was really quite surprised at how extensive the problems were when I tested the panels that I received.As soon as I installed the panels, I noticed that quite a few of the sockets weren’t holding the cables securely. Others were not passing data or current to PoE devices. This was when I removed all of the keystones and tested them one by one. After testing all 48 connectors, I found that 20 were faulty and only 28 worked as expected. I have now ordered replacement jacks from an alternative vendor to make up for the faulty batch.Needless to say that I am pretty disappointed by the lack of consistency, even for such a cheap piece of equipment.

At home I have a fairly complex network, as I run a homelab and enterprise-grade switched etc, but I've always wanted that "tidy" finish a patch panel brings, but without the hassling of having to run new (or cut existing) cabling - This great device solves that problem for you. Now I have that great tidy rack, without the hassle!My wife thought I was nuts when this went on my xmas list... whilst probably the cheapest thing she brought me, it has also turned out to be one of the best!
