Loves These
Priced well. Superb quality. Soft natural shape helped me feed my newborn when we had latch problems and my breastmilk flow was too much and too fast. Started my newborn on number 1 nipples. At 3 months, switched to number 2. At 5 months, switched to number 3 -- which is comparable to the flow of my breasts. So after 5 months of 100% bottle feeding, I put her back on the breast and she had no problems accepting it. Now she's on 50% breast and 50% bottle with no problems going back and forth.I use these with the Avent glass bottles and love the system. The glass washes up great, heats milk evenly and quickly when you place the bottle in a bowl of hot water (never overheats this way). Couldn't be happier with the Avent natural bottles and nipples.Another thing that people fail to consider that I would like to mention here is...you can buy Avent at your local drugstore, Target, Wallmart, BabiesRus...etc.This is so important because when you have emergencies and can't wait for Amazon to send a shipment there is that option. At first I wast contemplating Como Tomo which had excellent reviews online but decided against it because I've never seen those bottles at any of the stores I where I shop and I'm in a big city (Los Angeles). Anyway, I'm so glad I chose Avent and would highly recommend and use the same bottles for my next baby.

Great nipples!
My son, like most babies, uses a bottle from time to time! As new parents, we got all different sizes of nipples assuming that he would start at the newborn size and work his way up, newborn, then size 1 then size 2 etc etc. However, that is not the case.. Our son born october started with a size 1. Any other size he would spit out or sound like he was choking from the milk shooting into the back of his throat. 6 months later, he is still using.. size 1. The doctor states that whatever size they are comfortable with is the size they will stick with. It was explained that the ducts on mom's nipple dont get any bigger so why should the nipples you put on a bottle. Made sense to us.Now these nipples, we've tried a few different brands and these Avent ones were the ones that our son decided on. Had nothing to do with the fact that we liked them. We got various nipples and bottles and used the ones he didnt spit up as much with, and immediately latched on. for the dads out there that will need to feed while the breastfeeding mom is at work or sleeping, make sure you take the time to find a nipple/bottle that works! I would have my son write this review as he uses these nipples frequently but I fear for the life of my keyboard as he likes sucking on these nipples.... and everything else!

Good quality
Our daughter is exclusively bottle-fed formula. We received on of these bottles from our pediatrician in a bag of samples. We started off with the Tommy Tippee bottles, but when we tried this bottle, she LOVED it and it caused a lot less gas for her.The progression of these nipples is a bit different than that of some other bottles. The nipples included with the 4 ounce bottles are Newborn/0m+, or newborn. I didn't realize that Avent has a 1m+ nipple, and my daughter got very frustrated with the 0m+ at about 3 weeks of age. My advice would be to have a few 1m+ on hand so you can switch when they are ready to without dragging a newborn to the store, or waiting on shipping to arrive. After the 1m nipples, you advance to the 3m+ nipples, and I believe the progression is the same as other brands' nipples after that.If you are purchasing 4 ounce bottles, you don't really need these nipples. Order the 1m+ instead.

Clarifying Medium Flow
Avent is a great system. The nipples are nice and soft and have a more natural feel. He was a preemie and in the hospital they used a bottle with a disposable nipple that was super soft and it was really difficult finding a bottle that he would accept. Our baby refused a lot of different bottles, including Dr. Brown's.These nipples are not the #2 nipple, they are the #3.For those who aren't familiar with the system, the #3 nipples means they have 3 holes instead of 1 or 2. The holes don't actually appear to be shaped differently. If you need a nipple with a different shaped hole because of thick liquid or cereal, the variable flow might be more what you're looking for.

Love love love Avent products
I just bought more of these for my 3.5 month old baby. The Avent Classic bottles are her favorite by far (which I have reviewed elsewhere), and these nipples are very sturdy. We moved her up to size 2 at 2 months, and might have been able to do it sooner. Some of the nipples were starting to wear out after constant use (each one was getting used 3-4 times per day until we bought more bottles for daycare two weeks ago). I think we may be been abusing them a bit with the bottle brush, stretching out the hole, because the flow was getting quite fast, similar to the level 3. Now we have just been using the brush on the base and using the nipple cleaner (we use the OXO tot brush) and I think try are lasting longer. Regardless, it's a small price to pay for what works!
