Much better than traditional grip tape. Highly recommend to those interested.
When I ordered this I was worried it would be a sandpaper like surface. Thankfully it's not. It's a randomly textured rubber product. It provides very good grip as advertised/ I'm a lefty and have some damage to my right hand that gives me a little difficulty with racking the slide using a quick roll technique that puts the web of my right hand over the slide just in front of the site. This technique is fast but puts a a lot of pressure on my most damaged finger. The skin is thin and the slide serrations and edges really make it uncomfortable to do. I added the tape in hopes that it would allow me to grip more with the webbing, thumb knuckle, and first (well only in my case) knuckle of my index finger. It works like a charm. The surface is "soft" yet grippy. There's no risk of getting an abrasion if you slip off the area where the grip tape is applied. I shoot USPSA so speed is as important as accuracy. The tape allowed for improved time with any mag changes that required racking the slide, plus clearing the occasional light primer strike. I first installed this on a Glock 34 while my STI was getting serviced. The STI is back and I'm going to definitely put this on the slide.

I'm going to put it on everything!
I've only had it applied for about a week, and used for the first time today. I must say, this is pretty cool stuff! The rubber texture is exactly what I was looking for. It has a nice grippy feel WITHOUT irritating my skin. Thickness is just right to give it a feel without adding much. When applying I found it very malleable, and easy to cut. With a little heat it becomes even easier to form over difficult arias, and almost seems to help it stick. The adhesive (from my experience) seems properly tacky and durable. I can't speak to how long it will last, but I expect it to perform well. This is installed on my Glock 43, and I even built up a few layers on the back strap to improve the handguns feel. Cutting the product for a grip was tricky, and I don't see "EVERYONE" being able to do this properly. However, if you are a DIY'er, crafty, artistic, good at tooling, or looking at this product with confidence, you will be fine.

Increases Grip.
Four/Five stars. Really good product. Seems to be wearing well. Application not terribly difficult. Per the instructions, create a template, take your time and this stuff should stay put and offer the additional grip you're looking for. Have used on a couple of pistols and really like the feel/function. Can't attest to longevity just yet, but expect it to stick, stay and wear for a long time. Although I haven't tried, removal seems easy enough. Can see numerous other applications, but can't afford to use as liberally as desired... Probably should bite the bullet (pun intended!) and get a couple of packs; you'll use them. Recommend.

This Stuff Is Fantastic!
I got some of this for a slippery cell phone case and it worked great. Works great - gives an excellent grippiness in hand but does not stick to clothing much so devices still slip in and out of pockets well. Found a bunch of other uses for it and it has worked great as well. What is really surprising though is that it can be re-used - especially if it was originally on a flat surface. Just as it states there was no residue when I took it off to re-use it elsewhere. I was only removing it because the device itself this tape was on was now being discarded. When I would go to reapply it all I did was allowed the tape to warm up with just body heat from holding it in place and eventually it conforms to shape and sticks really well again (even though at first I was worried). I found using gentle external heat like a hair dryer on low heat will make this stuff shape itself to contours and stick really well, really fast. But you can achieve the same thing with just working it by hand but it will take much longer. Overall I love this stuff and am here to buy some more to apply to most of my Victorinox Swiss Army knives for a better grip.

Good stuff. Better value than Talon.
I ordered this and the Talon pre-cut grip for my Glock 26 after doing a grip reduction where I removed the finger grooves. The texture and grippiness are very similar, though the Talon felt slightly thinner. I kept the GT-5000 and returned the Talon. Although the Talon is convenient to apply, I decided I'd rather apply the material only where I needed it - on the backstrap and front of the grip, under the trigger guard and a couple of other spots on the frame where my fingers touched. Didn't need the full coverage on the sides. It's easy to cut this to the exact size you need it - just look at the way the Talon is cut for guidance. The adhesive seems very strong - no peeling at the edges so far. Be sure to degrease before application. I also heated it with a hair dryer after applying. With three decent sized strips, there's a lot left over for another gun or other uses. Talon also sells a 5 x 7" sheet like this, but it's about twice the price and you get 30% less material.

Alright but cheap
I bought this product about a year ago and put it on several firearms. My firearms actually see use so it was interesting to see how they hold up to long term. The Grip Tape fell off my primary carry firearm just a few days ago. No sliding, no peeling just fell off while sitting in my holster. Not a bad product for the price and I got a good run out of it for the time period. In my opinion the texture is not rubbery enough for me. And I know I am odd on what textures I prefer. It feels like it is a hybrid between skateboard tape sprayed with a thin coat of silicone waterproof. It definitely works to improve grip and traction. I put a small strip on one side of the slide of a pocket pistol. A pistol my wife could not manipulate the slide on at all due to poor grip. After adding this it was much easier for her to pull the slide back. The install instructions are far too complicated for a product like this. Measure how much you need and mark it with chalk or similar. Cut it out, apply, and cure with a hair dryer. There doesn't need to be any extra instructions for transferring the pattern to cut from paper to cardboard etc. Cleaning where the grip tape to go is a given however. As of right now, not sure if I want to buy more Grip Tape or upgrade to another product for long term improvement. Not bad stuff for the price at all.

INCREDIBLE GRIP TAPE I WILL BUY MORE!!!
I normally don't write many reviews, but this needs to be said. In the past I had tried many rubber grips, gips enhancers, sprays, and even skateboard tape for my service issued Glock, but they either made the grip too large, didn't fit properly, or were so abrasive they would scuff up my uniform. After years of trying to find that perfect fit I came upon this product on Amazon. What intrigued the most was that it comes as two flat strips of rubberized tape, and although I had to spend a little time cutting it to my exact fit, I found it fits MY natural grip. I just place the rubber tape where I need the support. Additionally, the 2 strips were enough for both my Glock and my XD40. Best of all, it's so inexpensive what did I have to loose. Now let me be the first to say that this stuff is not pretty, but then again neither am I, but I have always considered my Glock, both on and off duty, as a tool: just as a hammer is to a carpenter. I guess the bottom line is that it's that for the price of a mac & fries you get a customized non-abrasive grip that is removable and that stands up to everyday use. All in all, it's great stuff!!! ************************ 2 Year Follow Up.... It's been two years now and the original tape is still in place and functioning great. For the life of me I can not understand why others state that their GT-5000 Grip Tape falls off. or that there are better alternatives. Did they prep their surfaces (clean) to remove any dirt, grease, body oil, other residue, etc...? Like many products, it's all in the preparation. As for my tape, it's still on both my Glock and Springfield XD, as well as now on my hunting rifle, muzzleloader, tree stand, and many other outdoor/hunting accessories. Wherever you need to grip it, grip it with GT-5000. Pros: Inexpensive Versatile Flexible Non-abrasive Weather Resistant Cons: None!

Great for Glocks and Sigs, but don't follow the directions
Glocks are easy, because you can make a template just by making a trace. More contoured grips, like Sigs, are still easy but have an extra step. I was skeptical about grip tape, as I have never used it before. It's not a huge difference, but the difference is noticeable and definitely gives an advantage. Glock: 1. Put a piece of paper securely over the grip. Slightly heavier card stock is better. 2. Rub over the paper with a pencil, in order to transfer the pattern. 3. Cut out the paper following the details that were traced, place it on the grip, and trim as needed. 4. Place the paper on the back of the grip tape and use clear Scotch tape to completely secure the paper trace to the back of the grip tape. Make sure to put the paper trace is the correct position, or you will make a reverse/mirror grip that is in the wrong direction. 5. Cut out the grip tape with a SCISSORS NOT AN EXACT-O KNIFE carefully following the paper trace. Once the grip tape is cut, place it on top of the handle and trim further as needed. For weird shapes, like the grooves that sit at the top of the grip just below the slides on a Glock, don't bother tracing. Just cut a piece of paper free-hand as a template for your grip tape. I warmed the grip tape over a low heat for any areas that are highly contoured like the grooves. This gives the tape more flexibility. Remember, the closer you are to the edge of the grip, the more likely you will rub the edge of the tape with your finger and it will lift. I deliberately cut the grip tape slightly too small and back from the edges. Sig or other Contoured Grip: 1. Put CLEAR PACKING TAPE NOT MASKING TAPE over the grip. 2. Rub over the packing tape with your finger, in order to transfer the pattern. 3. Remove the packing tape and put it on a piece of glass (eg, window) so you can still see the details. Make sure an edge of the tape is up so you can remove it easily. 4. Trace the outline of the grip on the packing tape using a fine tip marker. 5. Remove the packing tape and put it on a piece of heavy paper. Now cut out the pattern on the paper. 6. Place the paper on the back of the grip tape and use clear Scotch tape to completely secure the paper trace to the back of the grip tape. Make sure to put the paper trace is the correct position, or you will make a reverse/mirror grip that is in the wrong direction. 7. Cut out the grip tape with a SCISSORS NOT AN EXACT-O KNIFE carefully following the paper trace. Once the grip tape is cut, place it on top of the handle and trim further as needed. Took less than 20 minutes, and I'm terrible at projects like these.
