Update 3-25-17: I've continued using this oil and now my husband uses it too. He was really impressed with the difference it made on his 73 year old skin. His pores got smaller. The texture of his skin is smoother and moister. Even his wrinkes seem softer. As for me, my skin is now "bump" free and the skin tone has evened out. I really do think over time it makes your skin look a little younger and softer. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying this is some miracle oil. BUT...it has made a noticeable difference in keeping my skin looking healthier and softer. Update 10-5-16: I've been using this oil for a while now and have had some nice surprises. As mentioned below, I have been using this Emu oil on my hands. I got in the habit of rubbing the excess oil on my lower arms after massaging the oil into my hands. At the age of 70 I had developed age spots on the backs of my hands and lower arms. Well guess what...the spots have faded significantly. Actually you can hardly see them now. Also I had developed several kind of mole looking bumps on my face. I had been thinking about going to a dermatologist to get them checked just to be on the safe side but no need now. Within a few weeks of starting to use this as a moisturizer at night and in the morning the raised bumps started getting smaller and are almost gone. I came to Amazon and found Leven Rose. You can read more information about Emu oil in their description. Bottom line...I decided to try a bottle of Leven Rose. Within a matter of days a skin problem I've had on my left hand for months has cleared up significantly with only a little scar tissue remaining. That looks to be disappearing too. I had tried other creams including Cortizone-10. At 70 years of age, I also have wrinkles like everyone else. Fine lines seemed to fade and more pronounced wrinkles softened. This isn't a miracle oil but it sure does help and it will be a mainstay for me from now on. My husband says he sees a nice difference so that's all that matters to me since he has to look at my face every day...lol. Emu oil is heavier than a lot of other oils such as Jojoba (which I also love) but it seems to penetrate the skin quickly and the softening effects last. Within minutes of applying any oily feeling had disappeared. You can use it sparingly as it seems to spread quite well after it hits the warmth of your skin. I put it on my face before I go to bed and when I wake up, my face still feels moist and soft. There's no fragrance to this oil and it's organic. I see nothing to dislike about Leven Rose Organic Emu Oil so I highly recommend it. By the way, I had a question so sent them an e-mail. The response was quick and informative so I'd say they have good customer service as they ended the reply by saying contact them with any problems or questions because my satisfaction is always important so I like that.

Emu oil is a great moisturizer for my dry, aging skin. It does not leave my face greasy and soaks in nicely. I also use it on all my limbs and love the silky smooth feel it gives my skin.

I love my emu oil. I tell everyone about it. Excellent to heal scrapes and reduce scarring. Have an overzealous manicurist massacare your cuticles? Emu oil. It even soothes bug bites!!! I used it instead of aquaphor for my last tattoo and it absolutely healed faster. Get this stuff now!!!

I decided to go ahead and purchase this after receiving a special promotional offer from the company. I am usually not super optimistic about certain products because many advertise a great deal but fail to live up to my expectations. Leven Rose however, has not failed me yet (I've purchased their Argan and Jojoba oil and loved them both). So, let me give you a brief background about myself. Since I was in my preteens I've suffered from cystic acne. Due to genetics, I also have naturally oily skin which is sensitive to the products I use. After learning more about natural products, I started using oils to help with the problem (tea tree oil, lavender oil, peppermint....) It wasn't until a few months back that I learned about the benefits of jojoba oil (which is similar to the sebum produced from our oil glands) and argan oil (which comes from Morroco and is multi-beneficial). I've been able to use both of them particularly at night after washing my face with no breakouts because of them. But since this review is not about those products, I'll get back to the emu oil. Truthfully, it wasn't until recently that I discovered what emu oil is good for. I assumed that it would just be good for my skin and hair. Fortunately, I was a ignorant to the other benefits. After some research, I discovered emu oil actually comes from a bird (big surprise for me there), and the emu is derived from the adipose tissue (fat) from the bird. I found that research has uncovered a range of purposes for the emu oil, which include the alleviation of pain. So now, let me get back to my concise bio. In high school, I ran cross country for a period, and ended up getting a stress fracture in my right leg. Although it healed, my right knee began to pain me on and off ever since. Correlation is not causation, but the pain was still a nuisance regardless of the cause. I had started wearing Mueller's jump knee brace but the relief was mild. Long story short, after I got this approximately 2 weeks ago I proceeded to rub a couple of drops onto my knee right before bed. I honestly wasn't expecting great results but I've been really blessed. As of now, I hardly feel pain in my knee and I continue to use it. I love this miracle oil.

It is a fat and just like every fat it can (and will) go rancid if not properly stored and has a shelf life of about 2 years but longer if you freeze it (you could use an ice cube tray so you can use a little at a time). Things happen and mistake get made, we are all human and things slip past quality control, if it smells rancid send it back. Also never buy or use an emu oil that has added fragrance, that is a red flag to me that says low quality and they are trying to cover it up. That being said, I am loving this oil! I hate lotions because they never absorb into the skin, especially hand lotions but this absorbs in minutes! If you are feeling greasy after 10 minutes you've used too much and/or did not massage it in properly and any excess can simply be wiped off with a microfiber towel. If you are still struggling with absorption try ostrich oil, it has a higher skin permeability than emu oil. I have seen some reviews talking about the color/texture of the oil; refined emu oil can be an off-white to slight light yellow, can have a slight cloudiness, with a light almost watery viscosity (this can change with temperature) but it really depends on the diet of the animal and the refining/distillation process of the oil. A dark yellow, red or brown is indicative of poor refining techniques and/or low quality product being cut with other oils. A clear emu oil is usually ultra refined and often strips all the beneficial vitamins, it can absorb slightly faster but is typically higher in cost. Since emus are endemic to Australia the genealogy, farming practices, and processing methods the unrefined Australian emu oil is far superior, especially when talking about pain relief. And on a final note, not everything works the same for everyone. Yes some can be allergic to emu oil, some supplements/medications can cause negative interactions and even though it is non-comedogenic some people still may experience clogged pores and breakouts (thankfully it has helped my very acne prone skin) Start with only a drop or two; don't be afraid to add it to your serum, moisturizer or sunscreen. Don't forget to do a patch test on the inside of the elbow (where they draw blood) or behind the ear just to be safe.

I’ve done a lot of research to find something that doesn’t require a prescription to control near constant itching of my scalp. This condition is always worse during allergy season but this year I’m at the end of my rope. Zyrtec controls skin itching but does nothing for my scalp. After extensive research I found emu oil. It’s supposed to maintain the moisture level of the scalp and cleanse follicles. I like natural options so I got the emu oil. Let me tell you the dropper is a God send as this is very thick oil and it better controls how and where to apply this oil. Keep in mind that my hair is salt and pepper with the grays evenly dispersed throughout. I put the oil on in the afternoon and slept with a plastic shower cap. In the morning I looked like a human oil slick. But I washed my hair twice, to get all the residual oil out and let my hair dry naturally. It’s remarkable how much the itching is lessened, and an added surprise is that most of my gray hairs are gone!! No lie they are gone. My hair feels lush and healthy. This is one product I do highly recommend to people with scalp issues, and I’ve tried everything on the market. If you purchase this I feel you won’t be disappointed. I can’t be the only person experiencing this change. Emu oil is also recommended for thinning skin which I’m plagued with due to many medications I take. I don’t recommend this for topical care for skin because it is so oily. But hair you can control with a shower cap. If you try this I wish you the same results I got. I couldn’t be happier.

I am in love with this product. I have sensitive skin so buying products are a challenge sometimes. This Emu oil is exactly what I needed. Not only does my face feel softer, look better within days of using, I am having no redness, no out breaks or adverse reaction. A little goes a long way and it is absorbed nicely - no messy top layer of oil on the skin, no funny smell either. I’ve also had my mother use this oil on her knees and she has experienced relief in joint pain. The service as well by this company is top notch, they are friendly and caring. From order to delivery it was less than 24 hours. I found this product on Amazon when looking for something to help with my extra skin from losing over 30 pounds since the start of the year.
