A genuine Amish author
Linda Byler is an Amish author, not just an author writing about the Amish. So you get some real facts about the Amish along with the fictional story. I suspect there are not many like her.Anyhow, the story is interesting, the characters are human and Linda does her job - she gets you interested in the next volume in the series. But not necessarily to find out who's setting those barn fires. Let's see how it's going with Sarah and that "loser" Matthew. What woman in her right mind wouldn't listen to a man tell her that he loved someone else (Rose), but if it was "hopeless," would she like to be "his girl"? (Why sure, Matthew, I'd love to be your second choice. Hard working and handsome Lee might have fallen for me, but you are the man of my dreams!) Huh? And what's up with cousin Melvin and Edna, the 29 year old spinster school marm? That's what we really want to know! So get that next one out, Linda, before we forget who is who here in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch country.

Believable characters, very interesting page turners
I love every book written by Linda Byler. Linda is Amish, so I can trust the realism in her books. All her characters are believable. You feel like you know them. Her books are hard to put down and grab your interest from the first page. I really can't get enough of them. The Lancaster Burning series is one of my favorites because of the character of Levi. He is incredible. I highly recommend!

Keep On Writing Books About Amish Communities!
What an exciting Amish novel book! It was hard for me to put it down at bedtime ~ it was a wonderful story of how the Amish folk all work together in their communities and the love that was exemplified for the neighbors and family members is just so neat to read about in these days when one doesn't really get to know their neighbors. I thoroughly enjoy reading these Amish books o my Kindle as many years ago my husband and I often drove thru Pennsylvania Amish country on our way to West Virginia from Boston ~ I can now place the settings of these stories and see the barns, the fields of corn ,and other vegetables and we often stopped and frequented the restaurants and bought gifts in their shops! Wonderful memories and I have read so many books and enjoy the many Amish authors!

Review of Fire in the Night
I really enjoyed this book and this authors writing, but was VERY disappointed to get to the end, and find that it is a ploy to get you to buy the next book etc. I do NOT appreciate this. When I buy a book I expect it to be a complete story, not just leave you hanging. I doubt seriously that I will ever buy any more of this author’s books. I have quit buying several other authors books for the same reason. I feel that doing this type of thing is a trick to get you to buy more books, and therefore a form of dishonesty! What a shame for such a good author to permit this deception to her readers. By the way, I would most certainly buy more of this author’s books had I not been deceived in this way.

Great Suspense
I found this book to be really suspenseful. I gave it to my Mom to read and she thought it was slow in parts so I gave it 4 out of 5 stars. I think it is a good read. I rate it so high because at different parts during the book I actually got chills. I don't usually react that strongly to a book so I thought I would pass it along as one to read.

Sarah, oh Sarah
I truly enjoyed this book. My rating is a 4 because it did drag a few times. With that being said, getting to know the family and friends was a treat. The barn burnings had me hooked to find these people. Ashley surely knows something. As for Matthew....ehhh...he's a player

Great look into Amish Life.
Great writing. Funny and engaging. An honest picture of Amish life.Very captivating fro the first chapter. I was however disappointed in the ending. I will have to buy the sequel to find out what will happen to the characters.

Far too many words seemingly to pad the storyline into a trilogy
I enjoy Amish books but I will not buy anymore from this author due to the excessive use of padding. I don’t have enough precious reading time to slog through wordy paragraphs that don’t add to the storyline. Also, I found the translations broke up the text, especially as there was a glossary at the back. Plus the most fundamental elements were explained as if I had no understanding or imagination of my own. If the author felt the need to explain then please add it at the end. I would like to know how it all ends but not enough to plod through two more books. I really do feel this was one novel padded into three. Such a waste of time and energy.
