Seems to be a worthy product
Not much to say that isn't already covered in other reviews. It works as intended and as required by our local codes. It's a pain to have water spray out the release holes, but I find mine doesn't do it much. The neighbor has a new house with faucets with this function built-in. His sprays every time he turns on the faucet with just a short open hose connected. I got a wet surprise when refilling my water bottle!I have three of these outside and each one is slightly different in terms of when it sprays, if it exhibits a slight whistle when running, but they all fitted real easy. I used the security screw and the head just spins off easily once the desired locking torque is achieved on the small set screw.Had no issue so far.

To avoid that last little spurt of water when turning off the faucet, make sure your hose is open
This unassuming little gadget has been a lifesaver. Not only does it prevent water backflow to the main supply, but it also ensures a hassle-free watering experience. The 3/4-inch thread outlet fits most standard hoses and end valves, so I can use it with my garden hose, sillcocks, wall faucets, and more. The best part? No more accidental showers from sudden bursts of water!Installation was a breeze, and the brass construction gives it a sturdy and corrosion-resistant build. Now I can confidently water my plants without worrying about water mishaps. Trust me, you'll appreciate the peace of mind this Vacuum Breaker provides. Just remember to detach the hose when you're done watering, and you'll be all set!Tip: To avoid that last little spurt of water when turning off the faucet, make sure your hose is open at the other end or use a quick-release connector.

Yes, it will squirt water all over the place. Definitely not for indoor use.
Before buying this, I read some reviews and saw a few people mention that this valve squirts water right into their face when they are around it. My initial thoughts were - "These people must be stupid, they are either doing it wrong, or there is just a bit of water dripping and they are exaggerating". Ha. I was wrong.I have a couple of water hose reels and yes, every time you wind back the water hose, it creates a bit of pressure differential and attempts to push water back into the house. This backflow valve (hopefully) prevents all of that, and instead of water going into the house, it spits it out through the little holes. It is quite forceful, and yes. if your valve is close to the water hose reel (which is not uncommon), it will squirt right into your face and get you wet.It also squirts whenever someone inside the house opens and closes the kitchen or bathroom faucets. The area around these valves is perpetually wet. So yes, I think it's still a good idea that I installed them. Just sucks that it tends to get you drenched. Would have been nice to at least contain the spray a bit better.
