1.5" - 3" Drains

So, you have a clog? The first thing you did was run to Lowes/Home Depot and bought Liquid Plumber, but after following the "wait up to 15 minutes before flushing pipes" and cover the opening so it can do its work undercover...it turns out that it's a miserable failure. So you go to Plan B, which is none-other then use a STRONGER chemical. In my case I picked up Liquid Lightening Drain Opener with the power of sulphur. After letting it sit for 20 minutes, it did nothing but smell up the whole house. Ok, on to Plan C, yet another chemical, but this time, I'll go organic since the sulphur smell turned me completely off. I used ZEP Drain Care. It sat there through the night and not only through the night, but sometimes through the day with added applications. NOTHING. Needless to say, Plan D didn't work either which was the use of a Plumbers Snake. I even used Drain Blaster which uses compressed air, but that didn't completely solve the problem. It helped somewhat or made it worse depending on the situation. Now, I'll cut to the chase, my shower has been draining slowly for months. When it got real bad, I would use the Drain Blaster and it would help, but it just moved the clog but did NOT REMOVE the clog. So this past week, I ordered Drain King #186. I knew it would get here after memorial day, but it wasn't a real emergency, since I was already use to it draining slowly. After calling in guests for Memorial Day, my wife informed me that there was a new problem...the sink was now draining so slow and it stunk horribly. I did what I knew I had to do, I grabbed the Drain Blaster, and in this case it didn't speed up the drainage, it actually brought it to a halt. A very embarrassing situation for my guests, but after getting through the day, I was hoping that Drain King would arrive and that it would actually work. Today, I finally got Drain King in the mail, I immediately went to work. The rubber on the product is very very strong, but flexible. I was able to maneuver it into the bathroom drain. My wife turned on the outside hose that it was connected to. It made a loud vibration. I ran it for about 3 minutes. No water splashed up at all. When I finished, I tested the drain, and IT WORKED PERFECTLY! Then I went to the sink. I shoved it into the main line going into the wall, but this time I didn't hear a vibration and that got me worried. I wasn't able to put Drain King more than 5 inches into the pipe and it was pretty horizontal which worried me that it would splash water back in my face. We put it on for less than a minute because I didn't hear a vibration and I was worried that it wasn't in correctly and the rubber would burst, so I took it out. I put the sink back together and cringed as I ran the water down the sink. I expected it to fill up and lay stagnant. HOWEVER, IT WENT DOWN SO FAST! It was better than it ever was. Truly amazing! I know this review is rather long, but I want you to realize that I tried everything. This Drain King IS WORTH EVERY CENT. If the thing just worked on the shower and busted after that, it was well worth it. But in my case, it cleared the shower and the sink perfectly. I Praise the Lord that I found this product. I believe you will find it is your BEST chance to clear any clog you have. P.S. There was a clone of this product in Lowes by Cobra Products. I never tried it, but I believe the thing that makes Drain King unique is the metal tip at the end which is supposed to be the key to its clog removal. This product received a 97 out of 100 on a Consumer Reports test of drain care products in 2006. The only such product to get such a high score. The drain king cleared what liquid drain cleaners and snakes couldn't touch and did it effortlessly. My home has cast iron drains. The tub drain had been getting slower and slower. In the past I had been able to use a plastic barbed snake to pull hair out and get it draining better. But each time the improvement was less and less. I tried running a snake into the trap from an access panel in a closet behind the tub and could not get the snake past past the trap. Out of desperation I tried the Drain King thinking if this did not get it a plumber was next. I connected a garden hose to the sink in the bathroom with an adapter followed the instructions and within a few minutes I had a free flowing drain! My wife's comment was she couldn't remember the last time the drain worked so well. I was so impressed that I used it in our laundry room on another cast iron drain for the washing machine that I also could not get a snake past. Same result. The drain flows great. I would have gladly paid two or three times the price. Additionally it is quick and easy to use. My only regret is I did not try it sooner. I would give this 10 stars if I could. Easily saved me a couple of hundred dollars and the next time my drains get slow I know exactly what to do. Great product and so simple.

Great tool! I used it to fix a slow pool skimmer by inserting it into the pump intake. Despite the tight fit in the elbow, it worked perfectly. Once the water was on, it blew out all the leaves and twigs that were causing the blockage. Suction is back to 100% on both skimmers. Saved me a lot of trouble!

Worked as described! Easy to use. Minus 1 star for durability which could be improved. The bladder popped after a 5th use. Definitely better than some of the other customers experience. I used it 3 times on a washing machine drain and 2 times on a commercial floor drain. Key thing is to let it run for the duration as directed. It may sound alarming at first when you hear the loud pumping, but let it run to get the clog completely cleared. Definitely a life saver. We do, at the very minimum, a big load a day in our household which can start building up gunk from hair to soap residue or whatever. And so the drain getting clogged can really disrupt our household significantly and having this around really saved us time and money.

Despite consistent use of a hair filter, something occurred which clogged up my main shower, suddenly leaving a couple inches of standing water. Unfortunately I could not quickly unclog the drain with a flexible hair remover, or small drain snake like normal, so I used a jug of a popular brand maximum-strength liquid gel drain cleaner which accomplished nothing after 6 hours (I don't know why I bothered wasting time on drain cleaner). I used to have a Drain King I bought ~25 years ago and have used a few times over the years so I was confident this would do the job, but I couldn't quickly find it so I opted to get another one. With Amazon's next day delivery I soon had a new one in hand. The design and use of this new one is exactly how I remember and the results were equally quick to achieve and long-lasting. One usage suggestion is to remember to put a 1/4-turn ball-valve shut-off in line with the hose and Drain King device to enable quick water supply turn-off (just in case anything goes wrong like not having a firm grip on the Drain King and letting it back out of the clogged drain spraying water, or such as causing a backflow through a nearby drain upstream of the clog). I was prepared for this by plugging the nearby sinks and tub (since I wasn't sure where the clog was actually located), inserting the Drain King deeply, and holding it firmly. Once set up, I turned on the water supply for 5 seconds to let the Drain King pressurize the drain pipe, then I turned it off to confirm everything was as expected. The drain was already beginning to flow after zero flow for >24 hours. I re-installed the Drain King and turned it on for 15 seconds then removed it. The drain was flowing like new and the shower quickly emptied. I repeated with the Drain King one more time for 60 seconds, then put everything away. Weeks later everything is still perfect and I reminded myself I could probably proactively do this once per year as preventative maintenance on problem drains and never have to deal with a clogged drain again. Thank you Drain King for a cost-effective, quality, and easy-to-use product. (By the way, the feature ratings include a question about Suction Power which is not relevant to a Drain King device. I suggest removing the question or changing it to something relevant.)

I have an inground pool that at first thought that the pump went bad. Changed the valve to the spa and it worked so that wasn't it. Second I figured that the line from the skimmer was clogged and came across the Drain King on a youtube video with my problem. Got the King, dropped it in the line and let it run for a minute but noticed nothing came out, just some air....Ok, pulled the king out and tried the filter...seemingly worked but again no flow from the line. HMMMMM tried the Drain King again and this time let it run for a couple of minutes. Nothing came out BUT I noticed huge gulps of air popping through through the surface until only a flow appeared. Again pulled out the King and tried the filter...SUCCESS!! It appears I had a (several?) huge air pockets in the line and the King pushed them out. Now the pump is sucking better than....well you get my drift lol. Using this product saved me from calling in the pool guys and having them rig something up to clear the line, charging me a good lump sum in the process. If it cleared my pool up, then it should work wonders for your clogged line and I couldn't recommend a better product to deliver as advertised for the price. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I'm sure this item works well for it's intended purpose, but that's not why I purchased it. I was trying to unclog my pool skimmer line. I purchased two different sizes (the 501 and 186 Drain King Inc. models) and followed directions, closing off all other skimmer and return lines. Neither one were able to dislodge the clog. I actually spent hours trying to unclog the line on 3 different occasions trying from the pump and skimmer hole sides. It made lots of noise as the other reviewers have stated and lodged itself in the pipe so I assumed it was working correctly. I gave up and was about to call a pool service. The day before this I needed to add some liquid stabilizer for the first time this season so I poured it down the unclogged skimmer side. The pump pressure shot up 10 psi for about 60 seconds and then all of the sudden I had a basket full of leaf debris and the pressure fell to it's normal level. Not sure why or what happened but this thick liquid seem to act like Drano and helped push the clog through, even though I used the unclogged skimmer side. Hope this helps other's who have issues with clogged pool skimmer lines.

The best way to clear any drain! (Read Tips Here) I bought an electric auger because of the kitchen drain getting clogged up with a buildup of grease. The grease was built up after several years. Well, the auger works great but the snake goes through the grease and the drain gets clogged again. I purchased this Drain King and this saved me a lot of money instead of calling a plumber! Here are some great tips that will help everyone! * Hook up your drain king to a hose outside without putting it in a drain. Turn on the water slowly a little at a time so you can see how your Drain King reacts to your water pressure. When you see the Drain King balloon starting to expand slow the pressure down so you can see how far you will need to turn the water on. If you want you can use a marker to mark the spot on the turn knob so you don't give it too much pressure. There are a bunch of reviews here of people having the Drain Kings explode in the drain. If you turn the water on a little at a time and watch how it reacts to your water pressure you will have a good idea of how much turning you will need. * Another good tip is to have a large pot to collect the water if your drain is clogged where that entrance of your Drain King is. After your Drain Kings swells up a bit there will be no water coming backwards to collect. A fairly small pot will be sufficient to collect the water before the Drain King swells. I used my Drain King for less than 3 minutes and it cleared my kitchen drain with no problem. Yes, I do recommend the Drain King for any drain problems!

I use the Drain Cleaner King to charge/fill my pool circulation line which is higher than the pool. It works very well. The first one I ordered had a defect and exploded. When I reached out to the company, they replaced it immediately, and without questions. Well done!

Had to wait some time for it to be delivered to the UK but it solved my pipe blockage problem on a 1.5 inch swimming pool sump return pipe. Used it in the sump end of the pipe. Had even tried turning the pump around to push the blockage out but to no effect.
