Surprise Surprise
I've had this fan for just over a week now at time of writing, and it is working out better than expected. Backstory: My previous Walmart bought Lasko packed it in after 3yrs of service, and I was on the hunt for a nicer looking, more feature rich replacement this time. Since I always check Amazon first before purchasing items, I found my way to the more expensive and more aesthetically pleasing fans on offer here. My first thought was to get the Dyson AM02 after the demo I had seen of it, but I just kept staring at the price. I didn't want another Lasko, and the Vornado Air Circulator that crossed my radar was out because it didn't oscillate (I have reasons for needing the function, despite their claims). My research finally led me to Ozeri. In my search results, I saw something that looked oddly cool, something that didn't exactly resemble a tower fan at all. Behold the 3x! Well, I wanted it right away just from looking at it, but such a price for a little known brand (to me) made me apprehensive. From looking at the reviews, and of closer images, my concerns were all but squelched. I pulled the trigger and hoped for the best. The Fan: The fan arrived in 1 day (Thanks Prime!), I opened the box very carefully, in case I felt the need to return it, and was very happily surprised. The components are of high quality, and the fit and finish of the whole thing is very nice. I was not expecting the fan to be built or look so good, even though I paid as much as I did. As other reviewers have mentioned, the base is glass and very modern looking. The gloss finish wtih metallic accenting is very well executed, and the operation is very intuitive if you take the time to play with it (don't throw the user guide away too fast though). The fans are quiet at their lowest setting (I'm being realistic..so not silent) as well as the oscillating mechanism (which is silent). The biggest selling point with this unit is the fact that it has multiple independent fan units, which allows for varied noise and varied flow. You might think it a gimmick, but it comes in handy went you wan't directional airflow without it being aimed at your face (which nice for all of 10min). Another cool thing about the fan is the Natural mode. It mimics the types of breezes one might get when sitting on their porch on a spring evening or walking through a park. It works by varying the airflow intervals (on/off/on/off) at predetermined times to achieve that effect. I thought my fan was broken when it first started doing it, but holding on to that user manual saved me once again. Complaints: The only complaint I have is that, when using the remote, you need to be directly in front of the unit to make changes. It has been a minor annoyance to have to get up or wait for the unit to oscillate back in my direction to do something. With that being said, all of the pluses this fans has far outweigh that issue. Summary: I took a chance, and was rewarded with a unique looking, great performing tower fan. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who wants to step outside the box a little, but not at the expense of quality or performance. I will be purchasing another one for my home theater room since it fits in so well with the decor(it even looks like a tower speaker). This fan belongs on your short list.

Nicer and BIGGER than expected, does the job well!
I live in an...ahem.... "Vintage" hi-rise condo where one of the lovely advantages is that one either has heat or A/C, as determined by building management. It has been VERY VERY warm for March, with temps around 80 outside, and MUCH higher inside (uncomfortable, to say the least). It was time for a fan, a nice one. I about had a stroke to go along with my heat stroke when I looked at a Dyson at a club store- over $400 - looked nice, but it was loud and did not seem all that strong. I will save that purchase for when I win the lottery, or something. Came home ( still hot) and looked at Amazon. There were several brands of tower fans, at several price points. Most looked like my old ( and notorious company bankrupting) "Ionic Breeze Quadra" thing. I wanted a bit more style. I was happy to see the Ozeri 3x model - I liked the style, and the glass base. The remote was a big plus, as were the touch sensitive controls. A very short 24 hours later, my new fan arrived. Big box, well packaged. ULTRA EASY to put together it was up and running withing 3 minutes! I really like the 3 fan configuration, and the noiseless swivel option. Really moved the air around, and BEST OF ALL, it cooled the place down! PRICELESS! And it was NOT $400! The unit was a bit taller than I expected, and I have no problem with that. The build quality seems quite nice, and the glass stand keeps it steady. The main unit is piano black plastic, if you were wondering. It is reasonably quiet, but like any fan, you can hear it, if you listen. The LED's seem to bug some people, but I rather like them. (Then again, I still have lights on my fake ficus tree's , and consider them to be an homage to the late 70's!). Of course there are cheaper fans out there, and some more expensive ones -- but none are BETTER than the Ozeri. I have found this to be a great buy, and am the envy of several in the condo complex! When I buy things I always consider the form factor, ease of use and if it would make a good gift. In this case, I think it would be perfect for anyone- particularly seniors ( LOVE the remote! Ease of set-up!) and people going off to college. The grilles are done in such a way that small fingers will not be in danger, and it is high enough off the floor ( and steady enough ) to avoid being a danger to most pets. Well worth your consideration - get yours, before you get too hot!

DELIGHTED WITH MY FAN
I've been wanting this fan for months, but it was $129 each time I looked. I needed a fan for the spare room where I keep my desktop computer and pilates exercise machine. The spare room is the only room I don't have a ceiling fan. I had it removed because I kept hurting myself when flinging my arms up in the air while exercising, I would forget the fan was on! I've really missed having a fan, I get really hot in the summer when I'm exercising. I looked for this fan in Home Depot and Lowes, but they didn't have it. I'd given up on buying this fan, I wasn't even looking any more until recently. I was looking in my Wish List, and almost fell off my chair, when I noticed this fan had gone down in price to less than I expected it would, $94, I was beside myself with joy and ordered it right away. It didn't take long for it to arrive by UPS. I was a little worried when I saw the box was damaged, but the contents were OK. It didn't take long to put together. You have to unscrew a large nut on the bottom of the stand, then re-attach it under the base, then attach the nut to the bottom. I didn't have the threads in right at first and it wouldn't tighten enough, so I tried again and that did the job. I like the fact that the little remote can be stored in the handle, I'm always losing things. I had it on yesterday while I was exercising, and I felt really comfortable (usually I'm sweating) I love the way it rotates at which speed I choose. I have it on now while I'm using my computer, it feels great. I do have an A/C but I don't like to have it on all the time, it's too expensive. I really like this fan, it makes a bit of a noise, but it's not too bad. When it's rotating it actually has a theraputic effect, like a nice breeze, it doesn't blast me. I love the compactness of this fan, it looks so attractive, much better than ordinary fans. I had been looking at other fans, but this is the only one I liked the look of. ***UPDATE*** I've had the fan for three months now, and I'm still very happy with it. Without this fan, I would be really uncomfortable working on my computer and exercising in the summer months. I did say it wasn't too noisy, but I recently had my ears tested and found out I have 40% hearing loss, the doctor said it wasn't normal for someone my age. Yesterday I picked up a couple of hearing aids, now I can hear everything (for the first time in years) like normal. I knew I had a problem, but never knew it was so bad. Now I can hear the fan properly, I wanted to let you know that if you're planning to use it in the bedroom while sleeping, it may be a problem, it is a bit noisy. It's not the noisiest fan though, a few months ago I sent the following fan back to HSN. Bionaire 12" Oscillating Tabletop Fan with Scent Tabs It was unbelievably noisy and didn't cool the room, I dread to think how much louder it would have sounded with my new hearing aids. It probably would have sounded like a jumbo jet! I'm glad I got this fan, I love it.

Good Flow, Bright Lights
I got this fan since SF can get hot during the day and when we're cooking, the hot air spreads quickly. I finally settled on this fan for three reasons; 1) it looks good and 2) it had good reviews, and 3) I liked the remote. Shipping was fast and easy as expected and setup was simple - just screw in the base. Before I get into the breakdown below, I would note that after about a day of use there was a clicking sound from the oscillating motor, a few taps around the morot area and it went away though. Its been running about 4x longer now, than it had been when it started so there may have just been some burn in. Construction: Very solid. The body is a hard, shiny plastic. The support beam is a lower quality painted plastic but you never really can tell. I would have preferred metal (even plated) . The base is glass and metal and works well on carpet, I imagine hard wood would be perfect, but no worries either way. The remote is well built too and they took some time to think about getting more functions with less buttons (Shift button). It does use a button battery, so that might be hard to replace if/when it goes. Lights: SUPER BRIGHT. This is one area where the fan falls short. There is no night light mode that either really dims or turns off the lights (Id be ok with a small status light). This has actually been an issue. I put some electrical tape over the bottom blue LED( matches the fan, so it looks ok) and I'm going to build a flap for the top. It sucks to buy a fan for $100 and have to modify it, but overall it's a great fan. For now I throw a tshirt over it, works ok. Functions: I won't rehash all of the functions. I find the 'night mode' and 'nature mode' to be extraneous and will never use them. What I really did like is that there are really 9 settings on this fan. Each fan can be turned on/off independently, so you have 3 options on each setting (High, Medium, Low). Airflow: Not a ton, but this is for residential use, not commercial. If you need to move a lot of air constantly get an industrial fan and deal with the noise, or invest in an A/C. Noise: Its hard to compare this to other tower fans because this one uses the traditional fans with fins. Most tower fans are essentially long vertical cylinders that have vertical fins (think of a paper towel tube with slits cut in it) as it rotates they push air. I compared it to a fan of that type and it actually was a bit quieter on the lowest settings, but doesn't move quite as much air. That said, for me it's fine. I turn it on high for a few minutes and then the room has cooled down enough to lower the speed. Other: The sensor for the remote doesn't have a wide range so while the fan is rotating it can be hard to change a setting. Not a huge deal. Overall, if you don;t need to move a LOT of air frequently, this is great. If you put it in a room that just needs good circulation and you don't mind the bright lights, even better.

Great while it lasted (2 days)
Edit at bottom*** The last half dozen or so packages I've received from Amazon have been in piss poor condition on arrival. Of course this being a large, heavier fan I figured it would be pretty beat up at by the time it reached by door. To my surprised the box was in excellent shape and the fan arrived in just fine condition. I've only been using the fan for a day, but so far it seems great. It has 3 settings: high, medium, and low. It also has this outside sim mode where it goes from high to low, progressively. It has a night mode where it cycles from high to low just like the outside mode. This really has to be the most useless feature on a product I've seen in years. Not only because it's not useful but because I can tell no difference from the 2 of 3 modes offered on the fan. I'd say it's identical. You are able to independently turn off the individual fans, so 1,2, or 3 could be running at the same time or 2 could be one one off and any combination you can think of. It rotates something like 110 to 120 degrees, if I had to guess. Oh yeah it was easy to assemble. The only think I had to do was screw on the base which was as easy as rotating the base around the bottom. It comes with a small controller which is convenient. There is one thing about the plug that I wasn't too thrilled about. It isn't a 3 prong grounded cord which is a plus while on the downside the instructions say to not use an extension cord or a surge protector. The extension cord I understand, the surge protector, not so much. I'm not sure if this is just a safety deal they put on the instructions for liability purposes, but this could be inconvenient for some people. Assuming my electricity bill doesn't decide to go through the roof from using this summer, I wouldn't mind having one of these in each room. And assuming they last the summer, quality is always a factor when buying items such as this. Edit: 2 or so days after buying this and thinking it was the best fan I've ever had one of the fans stopped spinning. Since this is a feature on the fan to turn off individual fans I tried cycling through the settings, turning it off and on, and unplugging it. So bummed out about this fan not working. The fan starting to make a clicking noise yesterday so I don't know if this is a problem with the fan itself, a known problem, or it just has an obnoxious clicking noise. Anyways save your money. Thankfully Amazon had an option for UPS to pick it up (it didn't mention any charges for it) for free (?) I hope, because I didn't feel like driving it to the UPS store. I will not recommend this to anyone. Edit: After being contacting my customer service my overall opinion about buying one of these again has slightly changed. While I personally wouldn't, I'd likely advise caution to future customers, rather than just outright sending them the other direction. Anyways, it may just be outstanding Amazon customer service- I can't really tell. Either way, with each his own.

FAN-tastic! UPDATED!
The Ozeri 3x Tower Fan exceeded my expectations. I like that it is tall, the tallest I could find. It is powerful on the high speed, and still not as loud as other fans. It really moves the air, providing excellent circulation. We have a large open kitchen/living room. I mostly use it in the kitchen, but can feel the air moving way over in the living room. C-o-o-l, literally! The remote and features were easy to figure out and master. The remote stores nicely inside the handle at the top, so you will not lose it. It is easy to pick up and move from one location to another. I have a bad back, so that is a plus. The heavy wide glass base is a perfect touch, insuring it does not fall down, say when a giant German Shepherd decides to run into it. It is the sexiest looking tower fan, which is a bonus, as it does not annoy me to look at it. I am hoping it will last long. I read some reviews where one of the three fans would stop working after some time. I hope that does not happen, but from all appearances the company seems to be pleasant to deal with. Also, there is a fuse inside the plug, which is something to remember should it stop working, as it may only need a new fuse. I priced similar tower fans locally at Lowe's and Walmart. They had fans that did not appear to be built as well, were not as powerful, were loud, and damn ugly to look at for $20-$30 less in price. I'm glad I splurged on the extra money to purchase something I would truly like. We live payday to payday, so that was not a decision I made lightly. I hope my review helps in your fan buying decisions. I know I researched for hours and over a course of several days before making my decision to buy this one. I am very pleased. I think Ozeri makes a superior fan and hope they will continue to make such high quality items. May 5th, 2015 This fan is so wonderful, holding up with heavy use, that I just bought another one for a second room. The Ozeri 3x Tower Fan is a high quality fan that has endured well over 2 years of heavy use.

Decent fan but not as high quality as I thought.
I must've have different expectations than everyone else. The first fan I received had an issue with the middle fan making a grinding sound. It wasn't THAT loud. In fact on high you could zone it out and not notice it. But when the fan spins down (Nature mode, sleep mode) it annoyed me and would keep me up so I immediately asked for another one via the Ozeri customer service and they gladly sent another out and I was able to ship the damaged one back prepaid (Great, fast customer service, no issues there). This new one is better, it's fine, but the bottom of the fan where the actual black unit meets the rod it a bit more loose and wobbly than the other one. Whatever, I'm not going to send it back again, but for $100 I thought it was going to be of a bit higher quality. The plastic feels cheap, though you're not really going to be touching it unless you're like me and can't afford 2 fans for multiple rooms so you move in from the bedroom to the living room frequently. Not that it would break but it's not super "solid." The base is really nice and heavy, it stands up straight and I can't imagine knocking it over. I really like the overall look of it too and it looks pretty slick in general if you have dark furniture. Having the 3 small fans is kind of nice, they're relatively quiet but it's on par with what I expected from a fan, I was hoping it was going to be quieter on the faster speeds but it's not bad. Basically it has a low, medium, and high and I usually sleep with it on medium or low and during the day I might have it up to high. I might be the only one but the lights are WAY too bright. You have a bunch of LEDs on the top and then a big blue on one the bottom. I'm not entirely sure why they need to be lit up especially in sleep mode. I wish they would design these things to dim the LEDs after a few seconds of not using the remote, or even a button on the remote to turn it off. I call the fan "Ninja fan" now because it has a bandana around the top to cover the lights when I sleep. I also put a strip of black electrical tape on the bottom blue LED to cover that. I like to sleep in pitch black and so does my girlfriend. It's always the little things... Turning off the fans individually is cool. It's useful if you're putting it next to your bed and you don't really need the bottom fan, for example. But the modes in general are kind of useless, it's loud enough that I don't care to use the nature mode or sleep modes, I'd rather just have it oscillate and put it on a timer. The cable for this thing is short. And I'm not a fan of extension cords (I live in an old apartment so the last thing I want to do is run even more cables to my limited outlets). I just wish it had a longer cable so it wouldn't be practically tethered to the wall. As for the remote, it's just a remote. No issues, good reach, as expected. In summary, I'm happy with this fan aside from the first one being a dud. I think the build quality is so/so, the lights are too bright, the cable is too short, the extra modes are useless, the sound is just about as expected, it looks slick, the base is sturdy, it oscillates, and it does a good job of cooling you off!

Good Looking Fan, Works Well, Good Noise Level
I've only had this for a day, so I can't tell you anything about how long this lasts, what I can say is that it works really really well, and for the first time this summer, I'm actually comfortable. I'm a writer. Most desk fans are pretty useless for me, when you turn them up they scatter my stuff all over my desk. Most floor fans make too much noise and only cool my feet. They also take up a whole load of space. This tower fan is perfect for me. It has three power settings and you can turn the individual fans on and off, though at the moment, I can't think why I'd want to. I like the 'nature' mode which varies the air flow and I love the noise level which is so much lower than every other fan in the house. Yes, is makes more noise when you turn it up full, but compared with our other fans at full power, its a dream. My husband though it would be lousy because the individual fans are small. It's not. I think it's just right. The small fan at face height doesn't scatter my papers, but it does make me feel cool, and right now I'm sitting in my favorite window, in the sunshine. The remote control means I hardly need pause in my typing if I want to change a setting. Did I mention that it looks really good? I almost forgot. It's a slim, sleek high-tech looking tower, and as far as my kids are concerned it has the ultimate signature of coolness - the 'on' light is blue. There's no need to hide it away, or even put it away when it's not in use, it's an ornament as well as a useful piece of equipment. So, having owned if for one whole day, I recommend this far, especially for people who work at a desk in a warm room, and for ladies 'of a certain age' who get hot when no-one else is. if, in time, I regret this review, I'll update it, but for the moment, I'm very happy.

Realmente refresca!

Nice Fan. Just don't put it in swing mode.
Has a nice, sleek design to it, with a sturdy, glass base to boot. I love this product because of the ability to turn on and off individual fans, offering much flexibility in terms of airflow, plus its quieter then the previous fan we used to have in the bedroom. The remote is a nice feature, as it makes it so you don't have to get up from bed at night to adjust the speeds if you're feeling too hot or cold. Plus, the timer option is nice, so you can set it to shut off well after you fall asleep. The Nature mode is a unique feature, as it cycles between different fan speeds every five seconds. An interesting option, although personally I don't really use it. Edit: One major flaw I find is that when the fan is in swing mode for at least 15 minutes or so, the unit starts to make a buzzing sound. As time passes, this buzzing sound gets louder and louder, but in stationary mode, the sound goes away. I don't know if it's just my model is defective or what, but I really don't use it in swing mode too often anyways.

Wonderful fan
I bought one of these 5 years ago for a friend and she loves it. This year, during the western heat wave, I bought one for myself and am so glad I did. I love the features of the fan especially that you can control each of the 3 min-fans independently. You can turn them on and off and adjust their speeds. The remote works great but I never tried the blue tooth feature because I live alone and don't need it. The fan is much quieter than my old square floor fan and moves more air. I've not used the sleep mode, instead I just turn on the swing feature and the breeze hits me every 10 seconds or so. I also like that I can just have the top fan on as it is at the right height for my bed. This is the best fan I've ever owned and recommend it without reservation.
