Does this product really fade the dark spots?

It didn't for me. I noticed no difference at all after 3 weeks. Spots were still there with absolutely no change in color. Possibly my skin is different than those that have praised this product. I might add that my spots were not heavy pigmentation but rather a light blemish which I feel should have been easier to notice any improvement. I relied on the "Neutrogena" name but was disappointed in the end.

Can this product be used with other acne treatments? I currently use a three step wash, serum, and moisturizer acne treatment.

This is not an acne treatment, it's a brightener/dark spot lightener. I have used it after Neutrogena's On The Spot acne treatment with no issues.

how much retinol is in this product?

The packaging does not give the strength of retinol. However , the list is given in order of strength, and it is 25th out of 29 ingredients. It is below the preservatives and the fragrance. Must be a VERY small amount.

does it work on colored skin?

It doesn't work. Don't waste your money. I recommend Cici Carelabs retinol serum, no matter you have colored skin or not, you can clearly feel your complexion brightened and your skin improved.
