He loves this kit! Helped him learn to say banana and “strawba” and pear. He loves cutting the little fruits up. The first couple times the Velcro is a little stiff so he needed help holding it still and pulling it apart enough to fit the knife in between the two wooden pieces: the banana was great because the base was flat enough that it was easiest for him to cut on his own. One of the Velcro pieces immediately fell off but it’s an easy fix with some glue. Some paint is already chipping but that’s expected with this kind of toy. Overall really love them! We grab a cutting board from the kitchen and a towel to set them on so the pieces don’t roll away and he can try cutting without us holding it for him. Our son is a year and a half and it’s the perfect independent little toy for him to build skills and confidence as he proudly announces “I did it!” Adorable. Just love it!

The quality is outstanding — the wood is sturdy, the colors are vibrant, and everything fits together so satisfyingly. My child spent a full hour "cooking" the very first day it arrived! I love that it encourages imaginative play and fine motor skills at the same time. The wooden crate is a great touch for storage and keeps everything tidy. The knife cuts through the Velcro pieces with just the right amount of resistance to feel realistic without being frustrating for little hands. Absolutely worth every penny. My 3 year old loves this toy! She plays with it all the time! I know melissa and doug can be expensive but i did get a good deal on this during a sale, although with this purchase and past purchases I can see why they are a bit on the pricier side because they make great products, they are not solid quality and worth the money. One thing I will add is the velcro that holds the fruit together has worn off and i believe ill have to replace somehow here soon but I think it might be from how much my daughter has put it to use!

This one was a gift to play with when he’s a bit older. Every kid that has a chance to play with these loves them. They stay busy with those little hands “cutting” the food and then sticking it back together.

Good learning toy for kids, sturdy materials and engaging activities

The size of the fruit is larger than I expected but the quality is excellent. The pretend knife is too thick for most of the fruit but it works well with the banana and the cantaloupe.

Whoever thought of this was awesome! I bought this for my 4 year old daughter. We've only had it for a few days and she has played with it non stop. I think it is a pretty well made set. Packaging: The set comes in a wooden tray with the sides about 2 inches tall and pretty well made. The fruit sits in molded plastic holding each piece separate. The bottom of the tray has a picture of hay. I took the plastic out so its easier for my daughter to take care of it, she can just put all the pieces in the tray. Knife: Good imitation wooden knife. It's about 8 inches long and shaped like a butcher knife. Fruit: Set comes with a strawberry, pear, kiwi, cantaloupe, melon, orange, and lemon. They are made of solid wood, and the pictures/colors on them are painted on, not stickers. The pieces of fruit are held together by velcro that is inset in the center of each piece. The velcro is white and it about the size of a nickel. I think the velcro could be larger on some of the bigger pieces of fruit (the pear for instance) to hold it together better, but what it has does do the trick. When cutting the fruit, it does imitate real cutting. My daughter actually has to put "work" into it to get them cut. As far as durability, I really can't say as we've only had it a week. I can see the velcro eventually giving out, but that would be an easy fix. I would recommend this product as I know it will give my daughter several years of fun!

My 19 month old loves this toy and it really keeps his attention. The toy seems like good quality especially because he threw one and it didn’t break. The painting and details are cute

Absolutely love it! And my kid does too. Only problem I see is since it is wooden, the fruits are quite heavy. Have to take care kids don't drop it on their feet.

Son bonitas pero no me acaban de convencer no son tan manejables como las de otras marcas las veo un poco desmesuradas en color y manejo para una cocinita. Es mi opinión aunque buena calidad lo son sin duda

Good for pretend play

Muy bonitas todas las frutas y los niños felices pirque pueden "cortarlas" les encantaron. La calidad es excelente, mi único pero es que no tienen caja que se pueda cerrar y es fácil que anden regados

My son loves this. We place the Velcro side on pillows and he cruises across the couch pulling them off. Only issue is the melon does not stick together well as it is 4 parts.
