super soft right out of the box
I am pretty much a round the clock clog wearer in cool weather, and was looking for a nice clog to replace my Danskos. I have worn Danskos for almost 17 years now, but the arthritis in the top of my feet (thanks to a long nursing career) has gotten to the point that they were hurting me to wear. I was also falling a lot, because the narrow heel on the Dansko caused my ankle to suddenly twist and give way, so I needed something with a wider and more stable heel. I wear a size 39 in Danskos, and a size 8 M US in this shoe fit exactly perfect straight out of the box for me, so I would agree with the previous reviewers who said they run large. I do not take a wide shoe, and do not have wide feet, but I did not feel that these were for people with excessively wide feet, as also noted in previous reviews. The toe is wider than a Dansko, yes, but not so much that it is excessive or comical. It would be a good shoe for someone with bunions, for example, because it does not squeeze the ball of the foot or the toes. The shoe has absolutely fantastic cushioning. It is like stepping into a bed of marshmallows when you put them on for the first time. I wore these as my only shoe on a two week trip to Europe, and trekked all over the countryside, cities, castles, and small villages in nothing but these shoes. They were perfect, and my feet were never sore at the end of the day. The tooled leather is absolutely beautiful, and makes an otherwise utilitarian shoe look much more attractive and fashionable. A few caveats about these shoes, however. The heel slips with each step, regardless of any anti-heel slip insert tried. Because the lining of the shoe IS so soft and cushioned, however, there was zero blister formation or heel/ankle irritation. I was initially concerned I would end up with a blister on each ankle, but this never happened, and the heel slip was not bothersome or uncomfortable, so it was not a problem. Because there is so much cushioning in the sole of these shoes, it is impossible to wear orthotics or inserts of any kind without pushing your foot almost completely out of the shoe from all the stuffing. Even a slim odor eater insole is too much. If you must wear orthotics or any kind of insert, be aware that you will have to remove the cushioned insert that comes with this shoe, and it will not be as soft. Lastly, there is a lot of room in the toe of the shoe, yes, but that did cause me to develop a small blister on the pinkie toe of each foot, because my toes rubbed the inside of the shoe as I walked. This happens to me when I wear crocs, too, so it could just be that I have sensitive feet. Regardless, the blisters developed. They were small and minor and not terribly uncomfortable, but definitely noticeable after a few days. I had moleskin on hand, though, so again, this was not a problem. Overall I think these are excellent shoes, and I am thrilled with the purchase. I will be recommending them to my nursing colleagues as an alternative to Danskos.

Love these shoes!
I was desperate for some shoes that would last for a long time and a shoe salesman recommended Klogs. I LOVE the pair I got, so a year later, I bought 2 more pairs on Amazon. They are like clouds for my feet. I stand most of the day (teaching) and also walk between multiple buildings, so it can be tough to find shoes that can keep up with me and still be comfortable at the end of the day. I found almost immediately that it was hard to make myself wear any other pair of shoes. The scrollwork on these shoes adds a little bit of flair, but it isn't over the top. They are very true-to-size and fit just like the other pair I have. I've found that both the sole and the tread hold up well. These are very durable shoes. Update (2017): I now have several pairs of these shoes in different colors and have found that they last for quite a while. I'm hard on shoes, and I'm just now reaching the point where I am considering getting rid of the first couple pairs I bought (tread worn off and shoe lining coming apart). Still very satisfied with these. In case anyone is wondering, the replacement insoles work fine. You have to cut them to fit, which can be iffy sometimes, but they work well and extend the life of the shoes. I tend to wear little bits out of the insoles under the balls of my feet, so having the option for a replacement is definitely a must.

Good quality, great price.
I love my work shoes. They are durable and comfortable. They are slightly loose fitting but not enough to cause a problem, perfect for 12 hour shifts. They are a little heavy if youโre not used to them but I have had no trouble. The heel is a little tall but helps with support on those long hours on hard floors. These shoes are my number 1 go to after trying many different tennis shoe styles and ending up wearing them out far too quickly.

Finding shoes that fit is challenging for me
A little back story: I have big feet. Always have. I already have a pair of these at home that are smooth black. I use them for work, but they are two years old and getting a little worn out. I had gotten a size 10 and then paid to have them stretched at the local shoe shop. The reason for this is the place I got them (not Amazon) said they only came in wide width for size 11 (my actual shoe size.) So I went looking elsewhere when it was time to get new ones, since I already knew what size I needed I figured online ordering would be just fine. Imagine my surprise when I found a size 11 in medium width! I order them, they came and I tried them on. They are a little more loose then what I am used to but feel much better then the ones I had to have stretched. Again these are work shoes. I work 10 hour days 4 days a week mostly standing so comfort is of great importance. I have worn them twice now (I alternate with a pair of expensive athletic shoes to make both last longer and to keep my feet happy) and find them very comfortable. My feet are not tired when I am done with my work day. The slight loose feeling is doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would. All in all a great shoe for people on their feet all day. Way better then Danskos (Danskos make my feet hurt) Pros: very comfortable, cool understated look, fits like most clogs but with more cushion Cons: slightly large (which is really typical of clog styles in general no matter the brand.) For me a half size smaller would have fit better but I am wearing these and they work just fine. No blisters, my feet are happy

Perfect of serving or any job where you are on your feet! Also great for people with wide feet as well!!!!
I love these shoes. I work 15 hours on my feet and I have been having problems with ingrowns and calluses ever since i started a hob working on my feet. I feel as if I am spending way to much time trying to make my feet look smooth using every tool possible. I went to the foot doctor and she told me to get new work shows. I was wearing crocs, leather. This shoe is perfect for people with wide feet. It does not press on your toes which help people prone to ingrown tow nails or prone to calluses because these shoes do not rub against your feet. They are worth spending the money because they seem like they will last. I am going to get arch support inserts from my doctor. These shows run large I am usually a 7.5 to 8. I got a 7 wide and they are large but again I am adding inserts in them and again they are wide and I am not used to wide shoes. They feel great and my feet do not hurt when I get home. I tried on Dankos which a lot of servers i know have them and they are the same price as these. The Danksos made me feel as if they would fall off which I know they wont but this shoe as support in the back which means you can run around in them all day!!! Hope this helps. Again I would size down somewhat if you are buying wide!!!

Fantastic!
I am in my 60's and still working in a busy pharmacy 8 and 10 hour days. It has been impossible the last several years to find shoes that I can wear all day. I have a lot of joint pain and by the end of the week my feet, legs and hips just hurt all of the time. I've tried every shoe on the market and began buying a size bigger and stuffing them with inserts. I got my first pair of Klogs one year ago and was amazed that I could wear my actual size! Roomy toe box, great arch support and the deep cushioned insert helped my heel pain. They don't require breaking in, however...after wearing them a few weeks I noticed that I was standing up straighter and had my "natural stride" back. I have worn out 2 pairs at work in a year! They are great shoes and very well made - I just walk a lot. My first pair were the oiled black and I wanted the patent for summer. I also have a few clogs (open back) that are awesome. I was so elated that I could once again buy shoes! Yes, they are a bit spendy, but I am worth it, They have changed my life, and I deserve to walk without pain, no more hunched over limping around for me! The insert is removable, so if you have orthotics, no problem. I just use the Klog insert and I am good to go... and go ...and go!

The shoe would have been great..
The shoe would have been great... EXCEPT for the fact that it was way too big. I'm a size 9. I ordered a 9. I received a shoe marked as a 9. When I put the shoe on, my foot was easily able to slide back and forth, heel-to-toe, by an inch. When I walked in the shoe, the heel flopped as if I were wearing a flip flop. With each step, the heel of my foot and the shoe separated so much that only about 3mm of my heel remained in the shoe. If I wore these shoes for any meaningful length of time, they'd abrase my feet to the point of rubbing my skin raw because there is so much movement of my foot in the shoe. The width of the shoe was perfect. The footbed was extremely comfortable. The length of the shoe was FAR TOO LONG heel-to-toe. It will be returned. I ordered a closed-toe, closed-heel shoe yet these behave like a floppy sandal. This pair of shoes seems to be a factory reject. Is Amazon selling factory seconds that failed quality control measures? It appears so.

Nice if you don't have to wear them very long
I had high hopes for these shoes because I had a pair of Klogs (different style) for work before and I wore them for 2 or 3 years as a nurse. These look great on, nice to wear with jeans, and love the coffee color. They have a pretty high heel which is ok, rubbery and grippy on hard floors. The insole is cushiony and supportive and should be comfortable but they just aren't. Midway through my shift the cushioned strip along the top of the shoe was hurting the top of my foot so bad, even with the stretchy sides, it just was too tight around my foot. The shoe seemed true to size for me, size 8. Maybe a wider width would have lessened the tightness on the top of the foot? I tried them for 3 shifts in a row and ended up returning them because my feet hurt so much.

Great for problem feet
I purchased a pair of these a few years ago and loved them. I found this pair on amazon but they did not have the colour i wanted. thought i would try this style with the design even tho i really did not like the colour. But i loved them. the design is very soft and does not stand out a lot and the colour is really nice. the fit was perfect. I have very wide feet and problem feet. I have large orthotics so i need a deep shoe. These are perfect. Highly recommend if you have bunions, hammer toes and any other problems.
