Can I use it with my ipad?

You can use it with anything that has a video out, for my ipad 3 I had to purchase a video out cable (AmazonBasics 6.5-Foot/2-Meter Composite AV Cable for Apple iPhone/iPad/iPod,) about $19.00. But also i use it with my apple tv with my Mac and Ipod, Phone etc. Love this projector! For the price its amazing.

which is the total weight of packaging projector?

i purchased 3 of them but gave them to a school - where they are working great - they are lightweight but do not know the exact weight.

Does this work with IPad air? Or does it need an adapter and if so which one?

No you would need an adaptor. Type "Apple MD825ZM/A Lightning to VGA Adapter" into amazon. That is the one you need. This projector is amazing!!!

what cables does it need to hook to a lap top?

I use cable model#A1307 (from Apple) to hook InFocus portable DLP projector, 3D to my McBook Pro. I have not used the projector with other computers.
