Some reviews mentioned the straps slipping, but this will not happen if you feed the strap in the correct way. There's even a marking on the buckles to show you the right way. The straps hold perfectly well.Working out with rings is incredibly difficult, but it does definitely help get stronger faster, and the permutation and combinations possible are endless. They also fit quite neatly into a box around the size of the rings, and weigh just about a kilo, so they're also easy to travel with. Perfect if you're travelling and want to take your workouts with you. The wood is a sort of ply, but is sanded smooth. Some rings include sandpaper to modify the texture of the rings, but this does not. I haven't found the need for it either. The rings aren't polished or coated in any way, but I'm not too worried about splinters.Definitely recommended for anyone looking to up the ante of their bodyweight training. I would recommend getting strong with pull ups and push ups before buying these though. They're definitely an advanced/intermediate level implement, and being too weak might lead to injury. I trained bodyweight for 9 months before I bought these. I would recommend at least two or three months of training minimum, get the basics sorted before moving onto these. Totally worth their value.
