My size was on the smaller end of the listed waist size for XL, but these are too small even for me. I don't understand the cut of the garment either. The leg openings rise very high, and the patch of cloth between your legs could barely prevent an escape. I suppose you could wear them backwards as a thong. I prefer the ExOfficio Men's Give-N-Go Sport Brief to these.
