Spyderco Byrd Robin 2 Lightweight Knife Handle with 2.40" Stainless Steel Blade and Gray Non-Slip FRN Handle - PlainEdge -BY10PGY2

I have a few dozen pocket knives. This is not the best knife I own but it is the knife I use more than any other. For the money, it's very hard to beat. I have carried Spyderco knives for years, mostly Delica models, but I lose them. After buying my fourth or fifth Delica I decided to try this model. The steel is not as good and the edges of the handle needed a little filing but the lock is very solid and the pocket clip works nicely. I'm on my third one and I don't mind the cost of replacement nearly as much as the Delica. FYI, I also carry a Para 3 Lightweight for one-handed situations but this knife is for all normal tasks. Even though edge retention isn't the best, it's very easy to sharpen when necessary.

The media could not be loaded. There are a few different versions of the Bird Robyn 2 on Amazon.. Meaning, different manufacturing plants, I assume. I have bought 3 or 4 through the years and this one was fine. One of the ones that I bought was so stiff that it was very difficult to open with 1 hand. (never loosened up and was not adjustable) The opening hole was super sharp so, painful to use.This one was normal in those regards for me and does have disassembly screws.

Nice little back up knife. Should be like 15 bucks tho for what you get.

I think the marketing folks at Spyderco were in a meeting one day and said: "Gosh, we wish there was a way to get a knife out there that reminded Spyderco owners just how nice our premium knives are. A way to make them quit bitching about paying an extra $50 to $100 for the steels, fit, and finish of real Spydercos. A way to get a co-branded knife in their hands that wouldn't make them feel like they got ripped-off buying it, but would certainly drive them back to the core premium brand. But, I doubt there's a way to do that."Eventual designer of Byrd knives: "HOLD MY BEER."

Gift for my son who lost the one he had and missed it so much he asked for another for his birthday.

This knife is a low quality of construction . Not at all like my Spydeco that I was led to believe it was. It opens hard and rough and is even harder to close. I am returning it and looking for a much better alternative.
