Magic in a can
This wonderful almost magical wax brought back to life two very expensive coffee tables made of black California walnut. Before Briwax, the tables were dull, lifeless. After, they look better than new, with a velvety subtle sheen, when purchased almost 18 years ago. AND, I just used Minwax on a 40-year old Wendell Castle mirror (look him up) and the results are wonderful!

Bring New Life to Antiques
As the owner of French antiques, I would never use a product other than Briwax to polish my furniture. Itโs not a swipe and wipe product, and it does take some elbow grease to apply, but the shine it leaves behind breathes new life into my 100 plus year old furniture.

LOVE this wax!
Very happy with this wax! Used it to put a clear protective finish on my "salvaged pine" Restoration Hardware dining table based on the reccomedation of the company to specifically use this wax. I applied it with a "chalk painters oval wax brush" (also from Amazon - see my other reviews) and it went on great. It has very strong fumes, similar to an oil based primer or a polyurethane, but they disappated quickly. At first when it dried, after about 24-72 hours, it still had a very waxy candle-like feel and I wasn't extremely happy with that (posted pictures are from 1 day after I finished waxing it). However, after about 2 or 3 weeks it really cured and the waxy feel is almost not noticeable. I actually really like it now. It gives a nice hard matte finish to the table. I used about 3/4 of the can for a 72" X 33" table, including the fairly intricate table base. I haven't experienced it turning white in crevases or when it gets wet whatsoever, and we eat dinner with our 2 year old daughter every night on the table. In fact, she spilled water all over the table last night and it just beaded up and wiped off with zero problems. I will definitely be using this wax for other furniture projects in the future.

worked great on my unfinished wood table
I am super happy with this product. I stripped and sanded my parents old Queen Anne dining room table. I wanted to leave the wood as natural as possible so waxing or oiling were the options I looked at. I ordered three products to try and sampled them on a small piece of unfinished oak that I had. They were Briwax, Mahoneys wax finish, and Howards butcher block conditioner. The Briwax dried faster and left a beautiful smooth finish and was super easy to apply. The only negative is that it does smell pretty strong. The other two products had no offending smell but took longer to dry and were a bit oily to the touch. It would have taken a few days with drying in between coats for the Mahoney's and possible the Howard's . With the Briwax I put on three coats and polished the table all within a few hours. Very natural looking and super smooth

works great but bad for you
First, the product works great. It applies well and the surfaces look great. It protects and enhances. Wood furniture looks better for having it and will last longer besides. High end custom furniture stores use this stuff. But on the downside you need to apply it in a well ventilated area. I don't just mean a room open to another room, or even a room with an open window. I mean a room with a fan that vents to outside or actually being outside. Stick a box fan in the window. If you don't vent properly the toluene solvent that keeps the wax soft until after you apply it will make you ill. Short term you can expect a headache and maybe a burn in your throat. Higher exposure by applying a lot in a very small room could be even more serious. Long term damage includes neurological disorders. Luckily the stuff evaporates quickly and so you don't have any long term exposure issues.

The Perfect Wax to Preserve and Refresh Teak or Any High-End Furniture.
This stuff works great! We've been using it for over a decade. The coloring and shine - if & when applied correctly - is eye catching! There is that heavy & strong chemical smell that you can't do anything about because nothing else works this good. Trust us we've tried them all. This is what professional furniture designers use all across the globe. But stop reading buy it for yourself. You will find we are right on the spot about it. Almost forgot. The price is painful. I mean why does it have to be so high? It didn't always cost this much. But if you are the best then throwing it under "life cycle cost" is worth it in the end. But I don't have to like it.

Works Like A Charm
If you use this on the right sort of furniture it works wonders. Make sure you do it in a well ventilated areaโthe stuff smells like paint thinner. It does a great job maintaining and restoring the surface of furniture.

I work with a wood lathe, this product is ideally suited for this application. After project is sanded simply rub a lite coat on project, wait 5 minutes, and polish with lathe running. You get a beautiful showroom finish.
