Calculations in AS/A Level Chemistry Paperback – January 1, 2000

Very useful for topics like thermodynamics and equation type questions. The book has a lot of practice questions which are good if you like a challenge. Would recommend buying if you like chemistry calculations or if you need the help with your A-level chemistry calculations (the book has good guided solutions).

I teach IB Chemistry SL and HL and each chapter is full of good calculations generally with solutions/key, diagrams (Hess's Law, Born-Haber diagrams, etc.). I haven't seen a better book with this many calculations (the right kind of calculations for curriculum such as AP Chemistry or IB Chemistry) all in one place. As I inspected the chapters, I thought of several possible new labs based on what I saw. I'm really happy with this book. Keep in mind, this book has almost all calculations, not much theory - although there are end of chapter checklists. I highly recommend this.

Amazing book for review. It has side notes with great tips for problem solving. And there are good load of practice questions!!

Good reference.

I have really enjoyed working my way through this text. I thoroughly appreciate the approach the authors have taken. The text is slim, and introductory, yet physically and conceptually dense (in a good way...) - replete with clear explanations and examples. I have enjoyed working my way through it.

Nice book with the website.

The best thing about this book is that it gives you really clear explanations of the answers if you get stuck. I did I.B. a few years ago and this book really helped my HL chemistry. My teacher wasn't great, but after lots of self study and practice with this book and the new enthusiasm it gave me, I managed to get back on track.

I bought this book for a course in my undergrad. No complaints because I passed my class since I did all my readings :)

Great textbook for A level, easy to understand

This book is amazing. Wish I had seen it before I started Chemistry. Awesome and well worth every dollar. If your struggling with chemistry, get this book. I have 7 people in my Chemistry group who took a photo of my book with intentions to purchase it.Think that qualifies me for a discount 😉

Sehr viele Beispiele und Schritt-für-Schritt Anleitungen für die verschiedenen Reaktionen der chemischen Elemente. Für jeden englischsprachigen Chemieschüler ein muss.Der Autor hat auch eine website "Chemguide" - hat so ziemlich jedes Thema super und einfach erklärt.Amazing Book. I don't take A-Levels but the International Baccalaureate and it is still amazing. A lot of examples and Step-by-Step manuals for all the different types of chemical reactions. A MUST for every english-speaking Chemistry Student. The Author also has a Webiste called "Chemguide" - covers about every topic I could think of in High School level and maybe a bit more.

Loved the book to bits. It helped me a lot in doing chemistry class 11 and 12 numericals. Seriously I am in love with the book. Muaah and xoxo to the book....
