Are the blades and grill plastic or metal?

The blades are plastic and the grill is metal.

I have one of the oscillating tower fans, does this blow stronger than that?

This fan isn't what I expected. It's pretty lame for what it blows for wind. I ended up buying windmachine fans from WalMart

Can the grill be removed to clean inside the fan

Yes. It's very easy to do. Notice the 3 or 4 clips on the front grill. Simply lift them and remove the grill. Exactly the reverse of when you put it together.

Is it possible to point the fan towards the floor and also adjust the height?

It can be pointed at a very slight angle down from perfectly horizontal. The pole it sits on is designed to telescope, but since it's plenty high for me at its lowest position, I haven't used that adjustment.
