The 10-15 walk per day is just not enough exercise for him. Well, I got this, thinking that while he is sitting around, he can at least exercise his arm muscles. I didn't know if he was going to like it or use it, but he is and he loves it!!! I tried it too and it has a pretty good resistance. I can tell that he feels like he is accomplishing something by exercising his arm. I want to get this now for everyone I know that is aging who really need to strengthen their muscle for bone protection, etc. I am sure it works great for the normal use, for us younger people (especially guys) that want to build their lower arm muscle, but wow! I had no idea it would work so well for my father in law! Here is my findings... I used it about an hour a day for 2 weeks, I changed the settings to change the resistance for the last 2 weeks. I have to tell you that I am very happy with my purchase. It held up my abuse of using it constantly. I like the materials that is made from, it's sturdy and will hold up for a long time. After about a week of use the orange cap fell off and would never stay on afterwards. After another month of use, averaging 100 pulls/day on a low setting, about 1/4 of the maximum force, the metal guide that holds the screw which slides to adjust tension broke. A piece of metal came off, ending the life of this tool. The metal they used is of the cheap variety, you've got to save money on something! Otherwise how do you make an inexpensive product? Once again, you get what you pay for.
