All good after replacement
UPDATE:The seller reached out to me, suspecting the mattress pad I received was defective, and provided a replacement. To be extra safe, I washed the new one in cold water and dried on ultra low. The new mattress pad fits properly (just a little short of being edge-to-edge across the middle of the mattress) and the filling has remained soft.I suppose now I can't be sure if I actually received a defective product originally, or if I just needed to use even gentler laundry settings. But in any case, I appreciate the customer service.ORIGINAL REVIEW:After a single wash (warm water, tumble dry low with dryer balls) the filling has formed small hard lumps that are visible through a fitted sheet. The padded area is also 1 or 2 inches short on every side.I have a 95% cotton mattress pad that is 1/4 the price of this one. It has shrunken more (enough to become difficult to put on the mattress) but doesn't have the hard lumps. So I don't think this mattress pad is 4x better to justify the price, unless you really need 100% cotton.

Quality Cover Worth the Money
Worth the money. I wasted my time trying a much more affordable mattress cover, which I ended up returning. If you can find a way to afford this cover, do it. Great fit. Stays in place. Cushy & comfy. Organic cotton. This is the one.

NOT Cotton, Horrible Chemical Smell
IDK what this is made from, but it's definitely not organic cotton. I opened these to wash before using and inspect. The chemical smell on them is soo strong it made my house smell. Got on my hands. Gave me an instant headache making me nauseous. It's a very strong chemical smell that almost smells like smoke mixed with something I can't even describe. Like the bad chemical smells that are in clothes that come from Temu. The material also feels more like rayon or polyester or a blend. Cotton would be breathable. This has that silky poly feel, possibly a sateen cotton, however cotton shouldn't smell. So I can imagine this will cause me to run hot if I put it on my bed. IF the chemical smell will come out. The fact the tag said "washing before using is optional" is funny. These are WAY too expensive to be this questionable. I have other 100% organic cotton sheets/covers from other companies that feel and smell nothing like what these covers are. I was looking for a basic mattress cover, that had no waterproof qualities, that was 100% cotton. They are hard to find, especially in a twin/twin xl size, as most people now want waterproof. I was looking for the old school type that was just a cotton mattress cover like a very thick cotton fitted sheet. Just got a new mattress that does have all natrual fibers on top, and wanted to protect it without compromising it's natural qualities. I wish I would have read the reviews first and seen the other negatives that explained that these people are lying about their organic status. Amazon needs to pull their product down. They are committing consumer fraud.
