Princess Elspeth returns to fight for her home in this thrilling third installment in the Mage Winds epic fantasy series from New York Times -bestselling author Mercedes Lackey. No longer the willful novice of Winds of Fate , Princess and Herald Elspeth has completed her magical training. She returns to her homeland with her beloved partner Darkwind. Will they be strong enough to confront the magical evil that is threatening their land? New York Times -bestselling author Mercedes Lackey continues the new era of the Valdemar saga with this final sword and sorcery adventure in the Mage Winds epic fantasy series! Review: Masterful Story Telling - Mercedes Lackey is a master of weaving stories and characters together. Brilliant descriptions bring her worlds alive for the reader. Review: Great Read - If you have been hooked by this universe then you will enjoy this book. Dialogue is fun and the characters are interesting and realistic. There is more than one love story going which makes it fun for the romantic. This series included some pretty horrible villains. The things done by these villains are horrible and are most assuredly torture and sadism. While Lackey attempts not to be overly explicit, the descriptions are enough that if you don't like such things, then these books may not appeal to you. But they are balanced out by the fact that there are some phenomenal heroes and their great acts of heroism. I canโt wait to see what happens next in Valdamar.

Great Beginning!
Overall this book is as wonderful as all of Ms. Lackey's stories, the biggest problem with it is the fact that whoever did the typing and proof reading failed miserably! There are so many errors that at times the sentences make no sense.

Good finale
This is still a good book. I haven't read this series in 20 years, but still enjoy it. The only problem with it is the typos in the e book edition. All the ebooks have quite a few problems that way.

always fantastic
Arguably my favorite trilogy in this entire, expansive, universe. This tale ends Elspethโs saga, at least her adventures with her as the main focus and character. She, along with the other main characters in the winds trilogy, feature strongly in the Mage Storms trilogy, which comes next, though the view points are seen through others. Yet this trilogy is a chefs kiss of growth and adventure - the perfect collection of what some fantasies should be.

Amazing Ending for this Series!
I am totally satisfied with this Trilogy. The characters are fully developed and make you think of them as people. The story is addictive and the writing brings you there. This is what makes this series so great. I highly recommend this series. It's even better if you read all the other series that lead to this.
