Does the job really, really well!
Update on 2024-01-18 after 3.25 years of ownership: So wow, I'm super impressed with the durability of this storm shell. Maybe I was a bit hard on it for the initial cost back in 2020 because it has proven itself worthy since then. Through 3 winters and deep in to the 4th with lots of snow and 20F temps, 3 summers with highs over 110F, lots of wind storms, rain storms, enough weather to flood the nearby stream out, and everything else that goes on in other 3 years of outside exposure, the shell has held up perfectly. There's no sign of rust, no sign of fading, and absolutely no sign of any kind of incursion in to the shell from the weather. The TV I mounted in there back in October 2020 still works perfectly, and it would not have survived a month without the shell. Ignore what I said about the price and buy this, you will get your moneys worth out of it by how long it'll last you and how well it'll protect the equipment you put inside. Review on 2020-11-11 after 4 weeks of ownership: I picked up this shell to install a TV outside by my hot tub. I paired it with a 43" Westinghouse Roku 4K, which fits perfectly. 44" might be a squeeze. There is also quite a bit of room behind the TV for some other items such as remotes and other devices like an external Roku, Fire stick, Chromecast, etc. etc. Installation was easy. If you have a solid wall or fence post you'll have no problem, it uses 3 vertically aligned bolts so it can go anywhere you have a single post or stud, no need to worry about width/spacing. Since I wanted to install this against a fence/wall with diagonal slats I first screwed a 2x4 to the slats that reaches from the floor to the top of the fence to carry the load, and then mounted the shell's TV mount on to that. It's not going anywhere even with people pulling on the TV to move it around. I caught it on sale for $239, but I've seen it as high as $349. I would not pay $349 for this shell, $239 is a stretch because at the end of the day, it's just a plastic shell with an integrated TV mount where the mount itself would go for maybe $50. That's why I only rated it 3/5 on value. We've had a few big rain storms since it was installed (there is one right now, which reminded me to write this review) and so far so good, no water intrusion in to the shell. There is a hole in the back, at the bottom and angled facing down which plugs up with a rubber grommet for the cable, so no water gets in there either. I went with the shell vs. getting a weatherproof outdoor TV for two reasons. One, if the TV dies or just gets old and outdated it can be replaced with something better, the shell still works and I can use any TV available. Two, it does a good job of hiding the TV which helps deter potential thieves. There is one big downside though to buying this vs. a weatherproof TV though, and that is you can't use the TV in the rain, the shell only protects when it's closed. I would like to see an option of buying a front cover that is clear/see-through to allow that. Despite the 3/5 for value I still rate this overall 5/5. It sure beats moving a TV outside and back in every time you want to watch a movie in the hot tub.

Elevate Your Outdoor Space!
I upgraded from a cloth waterproof TV cover and couldn’t be happier. I had been watching this 75" Storm Shell for a while, and when the price dropped (saving about $200), it was an easy buy—especially since other retailers had it closer to $1,000. The hard shell offers excellent protection against the elements and feels much more secure than fabric covers. It’s easy to remove, and the built-in hooks to hang the cover are a great touch. The included lock and keys add extra security as well. It does require two people to assemble due to its size, but the finished look is clean and elevated. Highly recommend!

Great product.
In debated for a while on whether I should spend $2800 on an outdoor TV or hang a TV I’m not using outside using a Storm Shell cover. I’m glad I saved some money and used the Storm Shell. The package arrive without damage and the parts are extremely well packed. Install was not that hard. I recommend using a large folding table or saw horses with a piece of plywood. It’s for sure 100% easier if doing elevated vs trying to do it on the floor. I also recommend only using power tools if you set the drill chuck to a low gear. You do risk stripping or snapping off a post stud if if over torque. The instructions even say don’t use power tools. I would only use power tools if you’re familiar with using power tools for things like this. Doing without power tools does add a it of time because there are a lot of small screws. I got it assembled and installed all by myself. I did have help hanging the TV, but other than that it was a solo project. I also did add some water proof tape to some of the seams. I’m sure it’s not necessary, but I figured it does not hurt. I also added a bead of silicone to the back of the shell where it meets the wall. Also probably not necessary, but I l had some silicone and why not? I also added some Velcro to the remote and have it secured inside the shell. The manufacturer should probably just include a strip as it makes sense to secure the remote inside. I had Velcro so I just did it. I also installed power behind the TV which required using a grinder to cut through the back shell so the box can feed through. It’s cleaner that way vs having a cord hanging down. I think it’s a quality product and am happy with the purchase. If you’re not that handy I would recommend hiring a handyman to do it for you. My TV fit perfectly and now I’m ready to host some World Cup viewing parties on my back deck!!

Effective Protection with a Few Assembly Tips
The Storm Shell SS-65 Outdoor TV Enclosure is a solid choice for protecting a 65" TV outdoors. Assembly was manageable with easy-to-follow instructions, though having a sawhorse or an extra pair of hands is helpful for holding the panels in place. The hook works well, allowing the TV to be positioned evenly and moved in and out of the enclosure effortlessly. The cover takes a bit of practice to ensure a watertight seal, but it performs excellently—no leaks during California’s strongest rainstorms. The latches are good quality, but you’ll need different locks if you want to secure the TV. Overall, I’m very pleased with the performance, though it does feel a bit overpriced. Still, given the quality and protection, it’s worth the investment.

Don't hesistate to buy, worth the price.
I originally purchased a soft cover for my outdoor TV. Every night my husband and I had the a get a step stool to cover it up. That led to many arguments and concerns that someone could fall off the deck. Not long after, we replaced it with Storm Shell. Could not be happier, worth the price. My neighbor liked our Storm Shell so much she purchased one. We are now a happy couple again and no more bickering.

Works great and protects TV extremely well!
Installed without problem. Directions were clear and no assembly of pieces that could cause leaks. We have had several bad storms and the TV is fine! I did apply 303 aerospace protectant on it just to keep it in great shape! The size is good which allows room around the TV.

So far so good!
So far so good. I have not used for snow but rain, and had no inside leakage. Took us about 2 hours to install. Seems very durable. We did have to use different screws to install. I do think it is a little expensive for what you get, but it is cheaper than purchasing an outdoor TV. Hoping that in the long run, this stands up to the weather.

Surprised!
I normally don't write reviews so this product must be remarkable. The instructions were horribly done, the drill bit sizes were incorrectly labeled and the diagrams were unclear. As for the product itself my initial reaction was concern for the flexibility of the ABS she'll, and frustration when screw holes wouldn't line up. Due to the instructions I drilled holes into the masonry too large for the screws provided. I ended purchasing a box of properly sized Tapcons, which I felt worked better anyway. I had to get a bit creative with the mounting brackets, but there it is in all its glory. I'm happy with it. It's well thought out. I like the hooks for the cover when in use (make sure you have clearance below it. I get the hardware issue as there are so many different types of configurations on the market that your input into the product is limited. The material is ABS, they have to make it affordable (normally a outdoor glass TV enclosure costs you $1200 to $1500 base model). This does the job, looks great, quickly delivered, and exceeded the expectation set on by my original impressions of the product. Nice recovery!
