Review: Very sturdy garden seat - This seat arrived very swiftly. It comes as a flat pack and was very well packaged. The assembly instructions were a bit sparse but we managed it eventually. The seat itself is very sturdy and attractive. It needs a coat of all weather varnish or paint. We are extremely pleased with it.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Please advise what type of wood**
A: I asked the same question and nobody knew the answer.  There is no information on receipt of this seat about the type of wood.  I can only say that for the price it's a soft wood , I'm really happy with my purchase it's well made easy to put together and looking good after 2 coats of sandolin. I will be covering it in our wet winters.

A: Something light but hard too

**Q: Is the back of the bench vertical or raked back?**
A: It is vertical.

**Q: Is the wood treated in any way?**
A: It certainly didn't look as if it had been treated, but because it's not hard wood I recommend you give it a coat or two of a  Sandolin product.  This is more water repellent than a water based stain, especially if leaving outside in winter. It's a great seat for the price, but needs protection from rain and snow. It has been outside with its 2 coats of Sandolin 7 months and looks brand new. We live in a very wet area of Northumberland.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Really poor quality

We bought 2 of these benches and they arrived with the packaging just barely clinging to the benches. Upon opening it turned out the screws were missing from one bench (replaced by supplier). The finish to the timber was so bad I had to sand them before putting them together. The wood is so poor that I've used vastly better timber to build stud walls before plasterboarding them. One bench, upon being put outside started to dry so much that splits appears in several places. I certainly would not recommend these to any of my friends. I have tried to insert photos as evidence but cannot get them inserted.
